Exodus 25
25
1The Lord told Moses, 2“Instruct the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive my offering from everyone who willingly wants to give.
3These are the items you are to accept from them as contributions: gold, silver, and bronze; 4blue, purple, and crimson thread; finely-spun linen and goat hair; 5ram skins that have been tanned, and fine leather; acacia wood; 6olive oil for the lamps; spices for the olive oil used in anointing and for the fragrant incense; 7and onyx stones and other gemstones to be used in making the ephod and breastpiece.
8They are to make me a sanctuary so I can live among them. 9You must make the Tabernacle#25:9. The English word “Tabernacle” comes from the Latin for “tent,” and translates the Hebrew which refers to a residence or dwelling place. and all its furnishings according to the design I'm going to show you.
10They are to make an Ark of acacia wood that measures two and a half cubits long by a cubit and a half wide by one and a half cubits high. 11Cover it with pure gold on the inside and the outside, and make a gold trim to go around it. 12Cast four gold rings and attach them to its four feet, two on one side and two on the other. 13Make poles of acacia wood and cover them with gold. 14Place the poles into the rings on the sides of the Ark, so it can be carried. 15The poles are to stay in the rings of the Ark; don't take them out. 16Place inside the Ark the Testimony which I'm going to give you.
17You are to make an atonement cover#25:17. “Atonement cover”: the word used here means to “cover over,” in the sense of dealing with sins. The traditional translation of “mercy seat” originated with Martin Luther. From a physical viewpoint it was the “lid” of the Ark. of pure gold, two and a half cubits long by a cubit and a half wide. 18Make two cherubim#25:18. A kind of angel. of hammered gold for the ends of the atonement cover, 19and put one cherub on each end. All of this is to be made from one piece of gold. 20The cherubim are to be designed with spread wings pointing upward, covering the atonement cover. The cherubim are to be placed facing each another, looking down towards the atonement cover. 21Place the atonement cover on top of the Ark, and put the Testimony that I'm going to give you inside the Ark. 22I will meet with you there as arranged above the atonement cover, between the two cherubim that stand over the Ark of the Testimony, and I will talk with you about all the commands I will give the Israelites.
23Then you are to make a table of acacia wood two cubits long by a cubit wide by a cubit and a half high. 24Cover it with pure gold and make a gold trim to go around it. 25Make a border around it the width of a hand and put a gold trim on the border. 26Make four gold rings for the table and attach them to the four corners of the table by the legs. 27The rings are to be close to the border to hold the poles used to carry the table. 28Make the poles of acacia wood for carrying the table and cover them with gold. 29Make plates and dishes for the table, as well as pitchers and bowls for pouring out drink offerings. Make all of them out of pure gold. 30Place the Bread of the Presence on the table so it is always in my presence.
31Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. The whole of it is to be made of one piece—its base, shaft, cups, buds, and flowers. 32It is to have six branches coming out of the sides of the lampstand, three on each side. 33Have three cups shaped like almond flowers on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch. Each of six branches that come out will have three cups shaped like almond flowers, all complete with buds and petals.
34On the main shaft of the lampstand make four cups shaped like almond flowers, complete with buds and petals. 35On the six branches that come out from the lampstand, place a bud under the first pair of branches, a bud under the second pair, and a bud under the third pair. 36The buds and branches are to be made with the lampstand as one piece, hammered out of pure gold. 37Make seven lamps and place them on the lampstand so they can light up the area in front of it. 38The wick tongs and their trays are to be made of pure gold. 39The lampstand and all these utensils will require a talent of pure gold.
40Be sure to make everything according to the design you were shown on the mountain.”

Exodus 25
25
1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to the children of Israel, that they take an offering for me. From everyone whose heart makes him willing you shall take my offering. 3This is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, bronze, 4blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, goats’ hair, 5rams’ skins dyed red, sea cow hides,#25:5 or, fine leather acacia wood, 6oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense, 7onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod and for the breastplate. 8Let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell amongst them. 9According to all that I show you, the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all of its furniture, even so you shall make it.
10“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Its length shall be two and a half cubits,#25:10 A cubit is the length from the tip of the middle finger to the elbow on a man’s arm, or about 18 inches or 46 centimetres. its width a cubit and a half, and a cubit and a half its height. 11You shall overlay it with pure gold. You shall overlay it inside and outside, and you shall make a gold moulding around it. 12You shall cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in its four feet. Two rings shall be on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. 13You shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. 14You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark. 15The poles shall be in the rings of the ark. They shall not be taken from it. 16You shall put the covenant which I shall give you into the ark. 17You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two and a half cubits shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its width. 18You shall make two cherubim of hammered gold. You shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat. 19Make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end. You shall make the cherubim on its two ends of one piece with the mercy seat. 20The cherubim shall spread out their wings upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings, with their faces towards one another. The faces of the cherubim shall be towards the mercy seat. 21You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the covenant that I will give you. 22There I will meet with you, and I will tell you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the covenant, all that I command you for the children of Israel.
23“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Its length shall be two cubits, and its width a cubit, and its height one and a half cubits. 24You shall overlay it with pure gold, and make a gold moulding around it. 25You shall make a rim of a hand width around it. You shall make a golden moulding on its rim around it. 26You shall make four rings of gold for it, and put the rings in the four corners that are on its four feet. 27The rings shall be close to the rim, for places for the poles to carry the table. 28You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be carried with them. 29You shall make its dishes, its spoons, its ladles, and its bowls with which to pour out offerings. You shall make them of pure gold. 30You shall set bread of the presence on the table before me always.
31“You shall make a lamp stand of pure gold. The lamp stand shall be made of hammered work. Its base, its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it. 32There shall be six branches going out of its sides: three branches of the lamp stand out of its one side, and three branches of the lamp stand out of its other side; 33three cups made like almond blossoms in one branch, a bud and a flower; and three cups made like almond blossoms in the other branch, a bud and a flower, so for the six branches going out of the lamp stand; 34and in the lamp stand four cups made like almond blossoms, its buds and its flowers; 35and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, for the six branches going out of the lamp stand. 36Their buds and their branches shall be of one piece with it, all of it one beaten work of pure gold. 37You shall make its lamps seven, and they shall light its lamps to give light to the space in front of it. 38Its snuffers and its snuff dishes shall be of pure gold. 39It shall be made of a talent#25:39 A talent is about 30 kilograms or 66 pounds or 965 Troy ounces of pure gold, with all these accessories. 40See that you make them after their pattern, which has been shown to you on the mountain.
