Zechariah 6:1-15

Then I looked once more and had another vision. I saw four chariots coming out between two mountains of bronze. The first chariot was pulled by reddish-brown horses, the second by black horses, the third by white horses, and the fourth by dappled horses—all of them mighty. I asked the angel who was talking to me, “What do these represent, my lord?” The angel explained, “These are the four winds of heaven. They are being dispatched after standing before the Lord of all the earth. The black horses are leaving for the land of the north, the white ones for the west, and the dappled for the land of the south.” The strong horses came out eager to patrol the world. He said, “Go and patrol the earth,” and off they went. Then he called to me and said, “Watch, the ones going to the land of the north are going to make my Spirit descend upon that region.” Then another message from YAHWEH came to me: “Go at once to the home of Josiah the son of Zephaniah. There you will receive gifts from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have just arrived among the exiles in Babylon. Accept their gifts of gold and silver and make a crown to place on the head of the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak. And say this to him, ‘This is what YAHWEH, Commander of Angel Armies, says: “Behold the man whose name is the Branch! He will branch out and flourish from his place, and he will build YAHWEH’s sanctuary. Yes, he will build YAHWEH’s sanctuary and will be clothed with majesty. He will sit on his throne and rule. He will be a priest ruling on his throne. These two offices will flow together with perfect harmony. Joshua’s crown will be placed in my temple as a memorial to the donors Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and in recognition of the generosity of Josiah the son of Zephaniah. And those in distant lands will come to assist the building of YAHWEH’s sanctuary.” “ ‘When this happens, you will know for certain that YAHWEH, Commander of Angel Armies, has sent me to you. This will happen if you faithfully obey the voice of YAHWEH your God.’ ”
