In fact, when we were with you we forewarned you: “Suffering and persecution is coming.” And so it has happened, as you well know. For this reason, when I could endure it no longer, I sent our brother to find out if your faith was still strong, for I was concerned that the tempter had somehow enticed you and our labor would have been in vain. But now, Timothy has just returned to us and brought us the terrific news of your faith and love. He informed us that you still hold us dear in your hearts and that you long to see us as much as we long to see you. So, our dear brothers and sisters, in the midst of all our distress and difficulties, your steadfastness of faith has greatly encouraged our hearts. We feel alive again as long as we know that you are standing firm in the Lord.

Paul’s encouraging letter to the Thessalonian church is a beautiful treatise on unity, sanctification, and the coming of Christ. 1 Thessalonians reminds us to remain sober and steadfast, hopefully anticipating the return of the Lord.
This plan offers a 5-day journey through the book of 1 Thessalonians, making it ideal for both individual and group study.
Sharing the gospel can be unpredictable. How it’s received often has nothing to do with you, because the outcome is not up to us; it’s up to God. We see this in Acts. This 5-day plan continues a journey through Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of His followers as He expands His kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.
