The message I preached and how I preached it was not an attempt to sway you with persuasive arguments but to prove to you the almighty power of God’s Holy Spirit. For God intended that your faith not be established on man’s wisdom but by trusting in his almighty power. However, there is a wisdom that we continually speak of when we are among the spiritually mature. It’s wisdom that didn’t originate in this present age, nor did it come from the rulers of this age who are in the process of being dethroned. Instead, we continually speak of this wonderful wisdom that comes from God, hidden before now in a mystery. It is his secret plan, destined before the ages, to bring us into glory.

What if there’s a simple way of living, a way of “practicing” our life, that inexorably draws us closer to Jesus’ gravitational pull—close enough that we can no longer escape his orbit? What if we replace the 543 “must-do’s” of the Christian life with only one thing? What if our interest and curiosity is funneled into a “nothing but Jesus” kind of life? (Taken from the book The Jesus-Centered Life by Rick Lawrence, a companion to the Jesus-Centered Bible—jesuscenteredbible.com.)
There is a sacred anxiety when believers feel called to minister, especially when distracted by an awareness of their inadequacies. But God is more concerned with the condition of the heart and willingness to respond than a person’s abilities or inabilities.
“Different…why can’t they see it’s hard to be different.” This devotion explores our identity, purpose, and strength in Christ. Be encouraged that God LOVES differences and variety, and that these are actually gifts. Stand your ground, be proud of who you’ll become, and don’t ever run or hide from who you really are.
This 3 day devotional is from Lindy Cofer, based on her album, “I Saw The Lord".
