2 Samuel depicts the ascension and reign of King David following the death of Saul and Jonathan. David united the kingdom, established Jerusalem as the capital city, and extended the territory of Israel. At the crescendo of the book, God promises David that "your throne shall be established forever" (2 Samuel 7:16). April – No complicated content, just a monthly chronological journey through the Bible. The Bible isn’t arranged in the order events happened; it’s organized by genre. April moves from the chaos at the end of Judges into the hope of Ruth and the rise of Israel’s kings in 1 Samuel and early 2 Samuel. You’ll see God working through faithfulness and failure, raising leaders, shaping a nation, and remaining present even when His people struggle. Along the way, this month highlights God’s patience, His sovereign plan, and His steady movement toward redemption despite human weakness.
