Practically every one of us has experienced the bottom falling out at least once in our Christian walk. At times it can seem we are going under for the last time. What does it mean to wait on the Lord? We wait on the Lord to answer our prayers, to act, to renew our strength, to deliver, to do what only God can do. We wait on him because he is God and we are not. As we wait on the Lord, he changes us, he strengthens us, we learn, and we grow in our faith.

Jairus was a dad with a dying daughter. He lived in the time of Jesus and like many people in the Bible, he is only mentioned once. Yet, through Jesus' brief encounter with him, there is much for us to learn.
