Sixth Vision: Flying Scroll
1I looked up again and saw a flying scroll. # 5:1 Ezk 2:9–10; Rv 5:1; 10:2 2“What do you see? ” he asked me.
“I see a flying scroll,” I replied, “thirty feet # 5:2 Lit 20 cubits long and fifteen feet # 5:2 Lit 10 cubits wide.” # 5:2 Ex 26:15–25; 1Kg 6:3; 1Pt 4:17
3Then he said to me, “This is the curse # 5:3 Dt 11:26–28; 28:15–68 that is going out over the whole land, for everyone who is a thief, contrary to what is written on one side, has gone unpunished, # 5:3 Or side, will be removed and everyone who swears falsely, contrary to what is written on the other side, has gone unpunished. 4I will send it out,” # 5:4 Ps 147:15; Is 55:11 — this is the declaration of the Lord of Armies — “and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by my name. It will stay inside his house and destroy it along with its timbers and stones.” # 5:4 Ezr 6:11; Dn 2:5; 3:29
Seventh Vision: Woman in the Basket
5Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Look up and see what this is that is approaching.”
6So I asked, “What is it? ”
He responded, “It’s a measuring basket # 5:6 Lit It’s an ephah that is approaching.” And he continued, “This is their iniquity # 5:6 One Hb ms, LXX, Syr; other Hb mss read eye in all the land.” 7Then a lead cover was lifted, and there was a woman # 5:7 Hs 9:15; Rv 17:1 sitting inside the basket. # 5:7 Lv 19:36; Dt 25:14; Pr 20:10; Ezk 45:10; Am 8:5 8“This is Wickedness,” he said. He shoved her down into the basket and pushed the lead weight over its opening. 9Then I looked up and saw two women approaching with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork, # 5:9 Jr 8:7 and they lifted up the basket between earth and sky.
10So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the basket? ”
11“To build a shrine for it in the land of Shinar,” # 5:11 Gn 11:9 he told me. “When that is ready, the basket will be placed there on its pedestal.”

1Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and hinei a megillah flying! 2And he said unto me: What seest thou? And I answered: I see a megillah flying; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. 3Then said he unto me:
This is ha'alah (the curse) that goeth forth
over the face of kol ha'aretz;
for every ganav that stealeth
shall be purged out#5:3 i.e., banished according to what it says on one side of the megillah;
and every perjurer that sweareth falsely
shall be purged out according to what it says on the other side.#5:3 Ex 20:7,15
4I will send it#5:4 ha'alah, the curse forth, saith Hashem Tzva'os,
and it shall enter into the bais haganav,
and into the bais of him that sweareth falsely biShmi (by My Name);
and it#5:4 ha'alah shall remain inside his bais,
and shall destroy it
with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
5Then the malach that spoke with me came forward, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that cometh into view. 6And I said, What is it? And he said, This is the eifah (measuring basket) going out. He said moreover, This is their#5:6 i.e., that of ganavim and perjurors appearance throughout kol ha'aretz. 7And, hinei, there was lifted up a lead cover; and there was an isha (woman) yoshevet (sitting) inside the eifah (measuring basket)! 8And he said, This is HaRishah (The Wickedness). And he pushed her inside the eifah; and he pushed the lead cover over the mouth of the eifah.
9Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, hinei, there came forth two nashim (women), and the ruach (wind) was in their kenafayim (wings); for they had kenafayim (wings) like the kenafayim of a stork: and they lifted up the eifah between ha'aretz and HaShomayim. 10Then said I to the malach that spoke with me, Whither are these taking the eifah? 11And he said unto me, To build it a bais#5:11 i.e., ziggurat in Eretz Shinar (Babylon); and it shall be placed there and set upon its own base.
