20
Satan Bound
1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven holding the key to the abyss # 20:1 Ps 140:10; Lk 8:31; Rm 10:7; Rv 9:1,11; 11:7; 17:8 and a great chain # 20:1 Ps 107:10; 149:8; Jr 39:7; Ezk 7:23 in his hand. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, # 20:2 Other mss add who deceives the whole world,# 20:2 Rv 12:9 and bound # 20:2 Is 24:22 him for a thousand years. 3He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it # 20:3 Dn 6:17; Mt 27:66 so that he would no longer deceive the nations # 20:3 Rv 12:9 until the thousand years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.
The Saints Reign with Christ
4Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. # 20:4 Dn 7:22; Mt 19:28; 1Co 6:2–3; Rv 3:21; 6:9 I also saw the souls of those # 20:4 Rv 6:9 who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus # 20:4 Rv 1:2,9; 12:11,17; 19:10 and because of the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. # 20:4 Rv 7:3; 9:4; 13:12–16; 14:1; 22:4 They came to life # 20:4 Is 25:6–8; Mt 9:18; 26:29; Lk 13:29; Rv 2:8; 13:14 and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. # 20:4 2Tm 2:12 5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed.

Satanic Rebellion Crushed

The Great White Throne Judgment
11Then I saw a great white throne and one seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. # 20:11 Is 51:6; Mt 24:35; 2Pt 3:10; Rv 18:21 12I also saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. # 20:12 Dn 7:10 Another book was opened, which is the book of life, # 20:12 Is 4:3; 34:16; Dn 12:1; Rv 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:15; 21:27 and the dead were judged according to their works # 20:12 Ps 62:12; Jr 17:10; Rm 2:6; 1Pt 1:17 by what was written in the books. 13Then the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades # 20:13 Rv 1:18; 6:8 gave up the dead that were in them; each one was judged according to their works. 14Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. # 20:14 Is 25:7–8; 1Co 15:26 This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

1And I saw a malach (an angel) coming down out of Shomayim having the mafte'ach (key) of the Tehom (Abyss) and a great chain in his hand, 2And he seized the Dragon, the NACHASH HaKadmoni, who is Malshin#20:2 samekh mem, the devil and HaSatan. And he bound him for elef shanim (one thousand years), 3And threw him into the Tehom (Abyss), and shut and sealed it over him that he could not deceive any more the Goyim until the elef shanim (thousand years) were completed. After these things it is necessary for him to be released a short time.#20:3 Dan 6:17
4And I saw kise'ot (thrones) and they sat on them and authority for mishpat (judgment) was given to them, and I saw the nefashot (souls) of the ones having been beheaded because of their edut (testimony) for Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach and because of the dvar Hashem and for those who did not worship the Chayyah [Beast, Anti-Moshiach] nor its Atzav and did not receive the tav (mark) on the metsakh (forehead) and on their yad (hand), and they awakened to Chayyim (Life) and reigned with Moshiach for elef shanim (a thousand years).#20:4 Dan 7:9 5And the rest of the Mesim did not awaken to Chayyim (Life) until the elef shanim should be completed. This is the Techiyah HaRishonah (First Resurrection). 6Me'ushar and Kadosh (Blessed and Holy) is the one having a part in the Techiyah HaRishonah. On these ones the Mavet HaSheyni (the Second Death) does not have shilton (authority, samchut), but they will be kohanim of Hashem and of Moshiach, and will reign with him for elef shanim.
7And when the elef shanim are completed, HaSatan will be released from his beit hasohar (prison), 8And will go forth to deceive the Goyim in the four corners of ha'aretz, that is, Gog and Magog, to assemble them for milchamah (war); the mispar (number) of them is like the sand of the seashore.#20:8 Isa 11:12; Ezek 7:2; 38:2; 39:1; 38:9,15 9And they went up over the broad plain of the land and encircled the makhaneh (camp) of the Kedoshim and the Ir HaAhuvah (the beloved city) and Eish came down out of Shomayim and consumed them.#20:9 Ezek 38:9,16; Ps 87:2; Ezek 38:22; 39:6 10And HaSatan, the one deceiving them, was cast into the Agam HaEish (fire) and gofrit (sulfur), where both the Chayyah [Anti-Moshiach] and the Navi Sheker (False Prophet) were, and they will be tormented yomam v'lailah l'Olemei Olamim (day and night forever and ever).
11And I saw a Kisse Lavan Gadol (a Great White Throne) and I saw the One sitting on it, from whose presence Ha'Aretz and Shomayim fled, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the Mesim (dead persons), the ketanim and gedolim, having taken their stand before the Kisse (Throne) and Sfarim (Books) were opened and another Sefer was opened, which is the Sefer HaChayyim, and the Mesim were judged by the things having been written in the Sfarim, according to what they had done.#20:12 Dan 7:10; Ex 32:32; Dt 29:20; Dan 12:1; Mal 3:16; Jer 17:10 13And the Yam (Sea) gave up the Mesim in it, and Mavet, and She'ol gave up the Mesim in them, and they were judged, each one according to what they had done.#20:13 Isa 26:19 14And Mavet and She'ol were cast into the Agam HaEish (Lake of Fire). This is the Mavet HaSheyni (the Second Death), the Agam HaEish (the Lake of Fire). 15And if anyone was not found having been written in the Sefer HaChayyim, he was cast into the Agam HaEish.
