Acts 11:29

For much of the world's population, disasters are part of life. Some make the international news headlines, but many don't. Perhaps, you're facing a disaster that has hit your community. In the aftermath, hope can be hard to find. YouVersion partner Tearfund is an aid agency that responds to disasters. In this set of bible studies, Tearfund shares some of its learning on what to do when disaster strikes.

God is on the move. Never tied down, God leads from new places. This 5-day plan is designed to help you discern God-on-the-move, and how to respond. It continues a journey through the book of Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.

This devotional examines God’s attitude toward lack and the believer’s responsibility in responding to it. Scripture reveals that lack is not God’s intention, poverty is not a measure of spiritual worth, and generosity is central to Christian life. Drawing from Eden, Christ’s ministry, the early church, and apostolic teaching, we learn that God responds to lack with provision, dignity, action, responsibility, and grace—and calls His people to mirror His response faithfully.

Many believers love the prophetic but lack the grounding to handle it accurately. This plan teaches how Scripture governs every prophetic word, why the human will must never drive prophecy, and how the Holy Spirit confirms His leading in both the prophet and the believer. Through examples from Peter, Agabus, and Paul, you’ll learn how true prophecy edifies, aligns with God’s will, and avoids manipulation. Across five days, you’ll discover how to discern, interpret, and walk in mature, Spirit-led prophecy. Whether you’re called to the prophetic or simply want clarity, this plan brings grounding, accuracy, and transformation.
