2To Timothy, my dearly loved son.

Thanksgiving
3I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience # 1:3 Ac 23:1; 24:16; Rm 9:1; 2Co 1:12; 1Tm 1:19; 3:9; Heb 10:22; 1Pt 3:21 as my ancestors did, when I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day. # 1:3 Eph 1:6 4Remembering your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. 5I recall your sincere faith # 1:5 1Tm 1:5 that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice # 1:5 Ac 16:1 and now, I am convinced, is in you also.
6Therefore, I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands. # 1:6 1Tm 4:14; 5:22 7For God has not given us a spirit of fear, # 1:7 Jn 7:13; 14:27; Rm 8:15 but one of power, # 1:7 Or For the Spirit God gave us does not make us fearful, but gives us power,# 1:7 Lk 1:35; 4:14; 24:49; Ac 1:8; 4:33; Rm 15:13,19; 1Co 2:4; Eph 3:16,20; 1Th 1:5 love, # 1:7 1Co 13:1 and sound judgment.
Not Ashamed of the Gospel
8So don’t be ashamed # 1:8 Mk 8:38; Rm 1:16; 2Tm 1:12,16 of the testimony about our Lord, # 1:8 Ac 4:33; 1Co 1:6; Rv 1:2,9; 12:17; 19:10; 20:4 or of me his prisoner. # 1:8 Eph 3:1; 4:1; Phm 1,9 Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power # 1:8 Lk 1:35; 2Co 13:4 of God. 9He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, # 1:9 Rm 8:28; 11:14,29; Heb 3:1 not according to our works, # 1:9 Eph 2:9 but according to his own purpose # 1:9 Pr 19:21; Is 42:6; 46:10; Ac 2:23; 4:28; 26:16; Rm 8:28; 9:11; Eph 1:11; Php 2:13 and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. 10This has now been made evident through the appearing # 1:10 Lk 21:8; 2Tm 4:1; 1Jn 2:28 of our Savior Christ Jesus, who has abolished death # 1:10 Jn 8:51; Php 3:10 and has brought life # 1:10 1Jn 5:12 and immortality to light through the gospel. 11For this gospel I was appointed # 1:11 1Tm 2:7 a herald, apostle, and teacher, # 1:11 Other mss add of the Gentiles 12and that is why I suffer # 1:12 Php 1:29; 2Tm 2:9 these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me # 1:12 Or guard what I have entrusted to him, or guard my deposit,# 1:12 1Tm 1:11; 6:20; Ti 1:3 until that day. # 1:12 Php 1:6; 2Tm 4:8
Be Loyal to the Faith
13Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching # 1:13 1Tm 1:10; 6:3; Ti 1:9; 2:1 that you have heard from me, # 1:13 2Tm 2:2; 3:14 in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. 15You know that all those in the province of Asia # 1:15 Ac 6:9; 16:6 have deserted me, # 1:15 2Tm 4:10–16 including Phygelus and Hermogenes. 16May the Lord grant mercy # 1:16 Lk 1:50 to the household of Onesiphorus, # 1:16 2Tm 4:19 because he often refreshed me # 1:16 Phm 7,20 and was not ashamed of my chains. # 1:16 Ac 16:26; 20:23; 21:33; 23:29; 26:29; Eph 6:20; Phm 10 17On the contrary, when he was in Rome, # 1:17 Rm 1:7 he diligently searched for me and found me. 18May the Lord grant that he obtain mercy # 1:18 Lk 1:50 from him on that day. You know very well how much he ministered at Ephesus. # 1:18 Eph 1:1

2 Timotiyos 1
1
1Sha'ul, a Shliach of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua birtzon Hashem (by the will of G-d), according to the havtachah haChayyim (promise of Life) in Moshiach Yehoshua.
2To Timotiyos, beni haahuv (my beloved son). Chesed Hashem, Rachamim Hashem and Shalom Hashem from Elohim Avinu and Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua Adoneinu.
3Modeh Ani (I give thanks) to Hashem whom I offer avodas hakodesh service with a clear matzpun — as did the Avot of me — when I remember you constantly in my tefillos. 4As I remember your weeping, I want to see you, that I may be filled with simcha. 5I remember your genuine emunah,#1:5 in Moshiach which dwelt first in Lois your savtah (grandmother, bobe) and in your Em, Eunice, and I have been persuaded dwells also in you. 6For which reason I remind you to meorer (rekindle) the matnat Elohim, (the gift of Hashem) which is in you through my conferring of s'michah (ordination).#1:6 1Ti 4:14 7For Hashem did not bestow upon us a ruach of pachad (terror), but of gevurah (miraculous power) and of ahavah (love) and of sound havchanah (judgment).
8Do not, therefore, be ashamed of the eidus of Adoneinu nor of me, his asir (prisoner), but suffer together with me for the Besuras HaGeulah in the ko'ach of Hashem, 9The one having granted us Yeshu'at Eloheinu and having called us with a kri'ah kedoshah (holy calling), not according to the ma'asim of us but according to his own tachlis (purpose) and chesed having been given to us in Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua before Yamim HaOlam, 10But having been manifested now through the appearing of Moshieinu Moshiach Yehoshua, who nullified death#1:10 i.e., his own histalkus and Mavet itself and also brought Chayyim and alkillayon (incorruptibility) to light through the Besuras HaGeulah, 11For which I was appointed a karoz (herald), a maggid (darshan, preacher), a Shliach and a rabbi (teacher). 12It is because of these things also that I suffer. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and I have been persuaded that He is able to stand shomer, guarding#1:12 preserving until HaYom HaHu the#1:12 orthodox Jewish, see 1Ti 6:20 pikkadon (deposit) entrusted to Him by me. 13Follow the pattern of sound orthodox Jewish devarim which you heard from me, in emunah and ahavah in Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua. 14Stand shomer over the orthodox Jewish pikkadon entrusted to you through the Ruach Hakodesh dwelling in us.
15Of this you have da'as: all the ones in Asia, of whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes, turned away from me. 16May Hashem grant rachamim to the bais of Onesiphorus, because often he refreshed me and he was not ashamed of my sharsherot. 17For, when he was in Rome, he sought me with zerizut and found me. 18May Adoneinu grant to him to find rachamim from Hashem in HaYom HaHu.#1:18 2Ti 1:12 Also, while in Ephesus in how many ways he did avodas hakodesh you know very well.
