2 Corinthians 10

Paul’s Apostolic Authority
1Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ — I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent. 2I beg you that when I am present I will not need to be bold with the confidence by which I plan to challenge certain people who think we are living according to the flesh. # 10:2 Php 3:3 3For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, 4since the weapons of our warfare # 10:4 1Tm 1:18 are not of the flesh, but are powerful # 10:4 Ac 25:5 through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments 5and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge # 10:5 Jn 17:3; 1Jn 4:8 of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ. 6And we are ready to punish any disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
7Look at what is obvious. # 10:7 Or You are looking at things outwardly If anyone is confident that he belongs to Christ, # 10:7 1Co 3:23; Gl 5:24 let him remind himself of this: Just as he belongs to Christ, so do we. 8For if I boast a little too much about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up # 10:8 1Co 14:3 and not for tearing you down, I will not be put to shame. 9I don’t want to seem as though I am trying to terrify you with my letters. 10For it is said, “His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak and his public speaking amounts to nothing.” 11Let such a person consider this: What we are in our letters, when we are absent, we will also be in our actions when we are present.
12For we don’t dare classify or compare ourselves with some who commend # 10:12 Gl 2:18 themselves. But in measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves to themselves, # 10:12 Pr 26:12; 27:2 they lack understanding. # 10:12 Mt 13:13 13We, however, will not boast beyond measure but according to the measure of the area of ministry that God has assigned # 10:13 Rm 12:3; 1Co 7:17; Heb 7:2 to us, which reaches even to you. 14For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we had not reached you, since we have come to you with the gospel of Christ. 15We are not boasting beyond measure about other people’s labors. On the contrary, we have the hope # 10:15 1Th 1:3 that as your faith increases, our area of ministry will be greatly enlarged, 16so that we may preach the gospel to the regions beyond you # 10:16 Ac 19:21 without boasting about what has already been done in someone else’s area of ministry. # 10:16 Rm 15:20 17So let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord. # 10:17 Jr 9:24,# 10:17 Jr 9:24 18For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one the Lord commends. # 10:18 1Th 2:4

2 Corinthians 10
10
1Now I myself, Sha'ul, appeal to you gently in Moshiach and in his anavah (humility) I who am peh el peh (panim el panim, face to face) “lowly” among you#10:1 1C 2:3 but have “chutzpah” with you when absent.#10:1 1C 2:4; 7:8 2Now I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show enough chutzpah to oppose certain persons,#10:2 1C 4:21 the ones considering us to act according to the standards of the basar of the Olam Hazeh. 3For though walking in basar, we war not according to the basar, 4For the weapons of our warfare are not of the basar,#10:4 Ep 6:13-17 but full of ko'ach through Hashem to the overthrowing of strongholds, reasonings,#10:4 Jer 1:10; 23:29 5And every high minded thing rising up against the da'as of Hashem, and leading captive every machshavah (thought) into the mishma'at of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach,#10:5 Isa 2:11,12 6And prepared to discipline all disobedience whenever your mishma'at (obedience) is completed.#10:6 2C 2:9
7You look at things according to outward appearance. If anyone has persuaded himself that he belongs to Moshiach, have zikaron (recollection) of this: as he is of Moshiach, so also are we. 8Now even if I should glory a little too much#10:8 2C 12:6 in our samchut (authority)#10:8 2C 13:10 [as Shlichim of Moshiach] which Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Adoneinu gave for building you up and not for tearing you down, I will make good my claim.#10:8 Jer 1:10 9I did not intend to seem as if my iggrot were meant to frighten you. 10For they say, “His iggrot indeed are weighty and strong but his physical presence is weak and his shprach (diction), as far as rhetoric is concerned, is despicable.” 11Let such a one consider this: that the dvar we speak through iggrot when absent will become action we will very well do when present!#10:11 2C 13:2,10 12For we dare not to make a geder (classification) for ourselves or to compare ourselves with some of the ones commending themselves,#10:12 2C 3:1; 5:12 but when they measure themselves by the standard of one another or compare themselves with one another, they do not show seichel.
13But we will not boast out of our depth, but will be shomer to keep within the sadeh (field) Hashem has apportioned to us#10:13 Ro 12:3 which reached out even as far as you.#10:13 Ga 2:7 8 14For we were not getting out of our depth when we reached even as far as you. We were the chalutzim (pioneers) who came with the Besuras HaGeulah of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach. 15We do not boast out of our depth, that is, in the labor of others; but tikvateinu is that, as your emunah grows, our sphere of Shlichus (Divine mission) among you will also be enlarged, 16So that we may abundantly proclaim the Besuras HaGeulah to the regions beyond you, without boasting in someone elseʼs Messianic chalutz accomplishments. 17But HAMMIT HALLELYIT HALLEL (“The one boasting let him boast” in the L-rd);#10:17 Jer 9:23,24; Ps 34:2; 44:8; 1C 1:13 18For it is not the one commending himself that has the haskama (approval), but it is the one to whom [Moshiach] Adoneinu gives the haskama.#10:18 1C 4:4-5
