Offerings of the Seventh Month
1‘On the #29:1 Later in Jewish culture this became Rosh Hashanah (New Year’s Day).first day of the seventh month, you shall have a holy [summoned] assembly; you shall do no laborious work. It will be for you a day of blowing the trumpets (the shophar, ram’s horn). 2You shall offer a burnt offering as a sweet and soothing aroma to the Lord: one bull, one ram, and seven male lambs one year old without blemish; 3also their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three-tenths [of an ephah] for the bull, two-tenths for the ram, 4and one-tenth [of an ephah] for each of the seven lambs, 5and one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you. 6These are in addition to the burnt offering of the New Moon and its grain offering, and the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, and their drink offerings, according to the ordinance for them, as a sweet and soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord.
7‘Then on the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy [summoned] assembly [for the Day of Atonement]; and you shall #29:7 This probably included fasting and other kinds of abstention (see note Lev 16:29).humble yourselves; you shall not do any work. 8You shall present a burnt offering to the Lord as a sweet and soothing aroma: one bull, one ram, and seven male lambs one year old, which are without blemish; 9and their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three-tenths [of an ephah] for the bull, two-tenths for the one ram, 10a tenth [of an ephah] for each of the seven lambs, 11one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, and their drink offerings.
12‘Then on the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy [summoned] assembly; you shall do no laborious work, and you shall observe a Feast [of Booths] to the Lord for seven days. 13You shall present a burnt offering, an offering by fire as a sweet and soothing aroma to the Lord: thirteen bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs one year old, which are without blemish; 14and their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three-tenths [of an ephah] for each of the thirteen bulls, two-tenths for each of the two rams, 15and a tenth [of an ephah] for each of the fourteen lambs; 16also one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, its grain offering and its drink offering.
17‘Then on the second day [of the Feast of Booths]: twelve bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish, 18with their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, the rams, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance, 19also one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and their drink offerings.
20‘Then on the third day [of the Feast of Booths]: eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish, 21with their grain offering and drink offerings for the bulls, the rams, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance, 22and one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.
23‘Then on the fourth day [of the Feast of Booths]: ten bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish; 24their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, the rams, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance, 25and one male goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offering.
26‘Then on the fifth day [of the Feast of Booths]: nine bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish, 27and their grain offering and drink offerings for the bulls, the rams, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance; 28and one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, and its grain offering, and its drink offering.
29‘Then on the sixth day [of the Feast of Booths]: eight bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish; 30and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, the rams, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance, 31and one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its drink offerings.
32‘Then on the seventh day [of the Feast of Booths]: seven bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish, 33and their grain offering and drink offerings for the bulls, the rams, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance; 34and one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, and its grain offering, and its drink offering.
35‘On the eighth day you shall have a solemn assembly [to mark the end of the feast]; you shall do no laborious work. 36You shall present a burnt offering, an offering by fire, as a sweet and soothing aroma to the Lord: one bull, one ram, seven male lambs one year old without blemish; 37their grain offering and drink offerings for the bull, the ram, and the lambs, by their number according to the ordinance, 38and one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, and its grain offering, and its drink offering.
39‘You shall present these to the Lord at your appointed times, in addition the offerings you have vowed and your freewill offerings, as your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings, and as your peace offerings.’ ” 40#29:40 In the Hebrew text this is v 1 of ch 30.So Moses spoke to the Israelites in accordance with everything that the Lord had commanded him.

Festival of Trumpets
1“There will be a special meeting on the first day of the seventh month. You will not do any work on that day. That is the day for blowing the trumpets.#29:1 blowing the trumpets Or “shouting.” This might mean this is a day for shouting and being happy. 2You will offer burnt offerings. Their smell will please the Lord. You will offer 1 bull, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 3You will also offer 24 cups#29:3 24 cups Literally, “3/10 of an ephah” (6.6 l). Also in verses 9, 14. of fine flour mixed with oil with the bull, 16 cups#29:3 16 cups Literally, “2/10 of an ephah” (4.4 l). Also in verses 9, 14. with the ram, 4and 8 cups#29:4 8 cups Literally, “1/10 of an ephah” (2.2 l). Also in verses 10, 15. with each of the 7 lambs. 5Also offer a male goat as a sin offering to make you pure. 6These offerings are in addition to the New Moon sacrifice and its grain offering. And they are in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings. These must be done according to the rules. They will be sweet-smelling gifts to the Lord.
The Day of Atonement
7“There will be a special meeting on the tenth day of the seventh month. During that day you must not eat any food,#29:7 you … food Literally, “you will humble your souls.” and you must not do any work. 8You will offer burnt offerings. Their smell will please the Lord. You must offer 1 bull, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 9You must also offer 24 cups of fine flour mixed with olive oil with the bull, 16 cups with the ram, 10and 8 cups with each of the 7 lambs. 11You will also offer 1 male goat as a sin offering. This will be in addition to the sin offering for the Day of Atonement. This will also be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
Festival of Shelters
12“There will be a special meeting on the 15th day of the seventh month.#29:12 15th day of the seventh month This is the Festival of Shelters. See “Festival of Shelters” in the Word List. You must not do any work on that day. You must celebrate a special festival for the Lord for seven days. 13You will offer burnt offerings as sweet-smelling gifts to the Lord. You will offer 13 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 14You must also offer 24 cups of fine flour mixed with oil with each of the 13 bulls, 16 cups with each of the 2 rams, 15and 8 cups with each of the 14 lambs. 16You must also offer 1 male goat. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
17“On the second day of this festival, you must offer 12 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 18You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings with the bulls, rams, and lambs. 19You must also offer 1 male goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
20“On the third day of this festival, you must offer 11 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 21You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings with the bulls, rams, and lambs. 22You must also give 1 goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
23“On the fourth day of this festival, you must offer 10 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 24You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings with the bulls, rams, and lambs. 25You must also give 1 male goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
26“On the fifth day of this festival, you must offer 9 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 27You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings with the bulls, rams, and lambs. 28You must also give 1 male goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
29“On the sixth day of this festival, you must offer 8 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 30You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs. 31You must also give 1 male goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
32“On the seventh day of this festival, you must offer 7 bulls, 2 rams, and 14 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 33You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings with the bulls, rams, and lambs. 34You must also give 1 male goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
35“The eighth day of this festival is a very special meeting for you. You must not do any work on that day. 36You must offer a burnt offering as a sweet-smelling gift to the Lord. You must offer 1 bull, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. 37You must also give the right amount of grain and drink offerings with the bull, ram, and lambs. 38You must also give 1 male goat as a sin offering. This must be in addition to the daily sacrifice and its grain offerings and drink offerings.
39“At the special festivals you must bring your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings, and fellowship offerings. You must give these offerings to the Lord. They are in addition to any special gift you might want to give him and any offering that is part of a special promise you make.”
40Moses told the Israelites everything the Lord had commanded him.
