So they sent word to Joseph, saying, “Your father commanded us before he died, saying, ‘You are to say to Joseph, “I beg you, please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong.” ’ Now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. So now, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and support you and your little ones.” So he comforted them [giving them encouragement and hope] and spoke [with kindness] to their hearts.

This is part 4 of 4 in the Feed Middle School series Unboxed: Created in God's Image. This plan unpacks Lesson 4: God's Masterpiece. God identifies us as his children. He designed us as his “masterpiece,” and through Christ, we are set free to do the good things he planned for us long before sin entered the world. We don’t need to cling to our own ideas of who we should be or what we must do. Being in Christ is enough.
