Those who want to make a good impression in public [before the Jews] try to compel you to be circumcised, just so they will escape being persecuted for [faithfulness to] the cross of Christ. For even the circumcised [Jews] themselves do not [really] keep the Law, but they want to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh [that is, in the fact that they convinced you to be circumcised]. But far be it from me to boast [in anything or anyone], except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Encouragement from a mom who launched her seven children and lived to tell about it. Part 4 of 12 devotions in this series from Robin Meadows.
Are you caught up in doing good deeds, but missing the gospel of faith? Are you feeling discouraged by faith based in works? Paul addresses this exact issue in Galatians and explores the foundational truth of the freedom of faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians offers a celebration of the freedom of grace and re-centers your focus on the law of love in God in three parts: the gospel of grace defined, the gospel of grace examined and the gospel of grace applied.
Life piles up. Work deadlines, family needs, finances, health struggles, church commitments—before long, it feels like the weight of the world is pressing down. As men, our instinct is to push harder, grit our teeth, and power through. But when we’re overwhelmed, God isn’t asking us to carry more—He’s inviting us to carry it differently. Let’s see what Scripture says about finding peace, strength, and perspective in the middle of the overload.
