Tehillim 2
2
1Why do the Goyim rage, and the Amim (peoples) imagine a vain thing?
2The Malchei Eretz rise up in rebellion, and the rulers take counsel together against Hashem and against His Moshiach, saying,
3Let us break their chains asunder, and cast away their fetters from us.
4He that sitteth enthroned in Shomayim laughs; Adonoi hath them in derision.
5Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and distress them in His hot displeasure.
6I have set Malki (My King) upon Tziyon, My Har Kodesh.
7I will declare the chok (decree): Hashem hath said unto me, Thou art Beni (My Son);#2:7 i.e. Ben HaElohim Moshiach HaYom (today) I have begotten thee.
8Ask of Me, and I shall give thee the Goyim for thine nachalah, and the uttermost parts of ha'aretz for thy possession.
9Thou shalt rule them with a shevet barzel; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potterʼs vessel.
10Have seichel now therefore, O ye Melachim; be warned, ye Shoftei Aretz.
11Serve Hashem with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12Kiss the Bar (Ben, Son),#2:12 See Hebrew Prov 31:2; Ben HaElohim Moshiach; see 2:2,7, above lest he be angry, and ye perish from the Derech, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Ashrei are all they that take refuge in him.#2:12 Moshiach

Psalms 2
2
1Why are the nations so angry?
Why are the people making such foolish plans?
2Their kings and leaders join together
to fight against the Lord and his chosen king.#2:2 his chosen king Or “his anointed one.”
3They say, “Let’s rebel against them.
Let’s break free from them!”
4But the one who rules in heaven laughs at them.
The Lord makes fun of them.
5He speaks to them in anger,
and it fills them with fear.
6He says, “I have chosen this man to be king,
and he will rule on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7Let me tell you about the Lord’s agreement:
He said to me, “Today I have become your father,#2:7 I have become your father Literally, “I fathered you.” Originally, this probably meant God was “adopting” the king as his son.
and you are my son.
8If you ask, I will give you the nations.
Everyone on earth will be yours.
9You will rule over them with great power.
You will scatter your enemies like broken pieces of pottery!”
10So, kings and rulers, be smart
and learn this lesson.
11Serve the Lord with fear and trembling.
12Show that you are loyal to his son,#2:12 Show … his son Literally, “Kiss the son.”
or the Lord will be angry and destroy you.
He is almost angry enough to do that now,
but those who go to him for protection will be blessed.
