Zacarias 1:10

In this 5-day Bible study, join Melissa Spoelstra as she traverses the terrain of Scripture to learn about angels—who they are, what they do, and what they have to do with you. This Angels app plan is a call to put your hope in the God of angel armies who reigns over heaven and earth.

Begin your journey through Zechariah with clarity. On the first day, you will read a guided introduction alongside the opening chapters of Zechariah. It explains the prophet's call to return to God, his remarkable visions, and his promise of restoration and hope. You will also encounter prophecies that point forward to the coming Messiah. As you read, remember that Zechariah is still being translated today so communities around the world can encounter God's Word in the language they understand best. This plan offers a clear starting point as you read Zechariah.

Like Haggai, Zechariah prophesies during the post-exilic period as Israel began resettling in the Promised Land. Zechariah encourages Israel to remain faithful and prophesies of a coming righteous King who will bring salvation to His people (Zechariah 9:10). This book reminds us that we too must be to what God has called us to, always hopefully anticipating when God Himself “will be king over all the earth” (Zechariah 14:9).

This Advent Guide comes from students, faculty and staff at Belmont University. Advent is that season of waiting that carefully and purposefully helps us to realign our priorities and to glimpse, anew, our place before God. Our humble hope is this guide helps people focus more fully on Jesus Christ through the Advent season.
