Provérbios 15:17

In this 5-day plan, based on the Solomon Says devotional by Amy Parker and Sarah Humphrey, learn wisdom from the world’s wisest king. Each day examines a piece of wisdom from Proverbs with a modern perspective and application with the aim of helping tweens find their voice and grow in biblical wisdom.

Discipleship works against fear. As we obey God’s commands, we entrust ourselves to him. Like the students attending the schools founded by D. L. Moody in Northfield, MA, God’s people “are encouraged to test the meaning and value of the Bible’s teachings experimentally, by acting upon them, and living them out.” As we “test experimentally” the word of God, we will find that we will have fewer and fewer reasons to be afraid. When we spend our first energy tending our relationships, including our relationship with God, all of our needs will be met.

Do you often wish your circumstances were different? Who do you know who seems to have the perfect life? In this Plan, we will study the tenth commandment a bit deeper. And I hope that we will find ways to heal our covetous hearts and find contentment in the Lord.
