Marcos 2:26

“Our hearts are restless till they find their rest in Thee.” Never before have so many of us felt the restlessness Augustine described with this famous sentence. But what is the solution to our lack of true rest? As this three day plan will show, the solution partially lies in viewing the ancient practice of Sabbath through a different lens—through the lens of “Thee”—Jesus—our ultimate source of peace.

We live in a fast-paced world that tempts us to never stop. There is always more to do and more to hustle. Yet since Creation, God has instituted a regular day of rest called the Sabbath. To answer whether Christians should honor the Sabbath in our modern lives, let’s look at the importance of it, God’s intent with it, and how it can be applied to our modern lives.

The Bible is our handbook for life, and its commands are guideposts to righteousness. Jesus saved us by his death but also calls us to a life of obedience. We live in an “always on” type of culture, and that is not a helpful or sustainable way to live. In this 3-day plan, you will discover God’s desire for you to experience a healthy rhythm of life and work. Pursuing balance is more than better time management. The way we choose to spend our time reveals our hearts and what we value.
