Malaquias 1:9

The Essential 100® Bible Challenge is a simple tool to read through the Big Story of God's Word. The reading plan is based on 50 Old Testament and 50 New Testament passages. Continue with the tenth part "The Prophets." ®Produced by American Bible Society in partnership with Scripture Union, Inc.

Somberly closing the Old Testament, Malachi shows that a thousand years after Sinai, unfaithfulness, greed, and injustice continue to plague God’s people. Moreover, Malachi’s ministry initiates centuries of prophetic silence. Despite the growing darkness, however, Malachi prophesies a coming messenger who would prepare the way of the Lord. Four hundred years later, a new era of redemption dawned when the cries of John the Baptist echoed in the wilderness.

In this plan, join Dave Cornes for an in-depth look at the book of Malachi. If you’re tired of going through the motions, discover what it means to live fully devoted to the God whose love for you is based on His promise, not your performance. Recover faithfulness in your relationships. Learn to practice justice and generosity. Amidst life’s struggles, embrace the extraordinary righteousness that is yours through Jesus.

Worship is defined as the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. If this is the definition of worship, then Jesus is the only one who deserves worship, no one else and nothing else. Worship is not just the songs we sing at church or the raising of our hands but worship as defined by the Bible is giving our lives as living sacrifice to God who is the object, the reason and the meaning of our worship.
