2Tessalonicenses 2:17

Has Jesus already come and gone? Second Thessalonians assured fearful people who had been told a lie and that Jesus Christ’s second coming was still to come. He didn’t leave you behind. Don’t give up. This same truth keeps a fire kindled in our hearts that produces self-control, discipline, and determination to keep moving forward. Trusted Bible teacher Dr. J. Vernon McGee leads us through this short, powerful book.

Written shortly after 1 Thessalonians, Paul’s second letter continues to encourage the Thessalonian church by admonishing them to stand firm on the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:15). As Paul instructs the church about the coming of Christ, we are reminded to be made worthy of God’s calling and fulfill all the good works of faith.

Join me for a three day devotional as we uncover the true meaning of Christmas. What things do you most look forward to and love about Christmas? It probably has something to do with making new memories and taking time to enjoy old ones, right? The decorations, the traditions, the celebrations with family and friends—it’s a special time of year and there’s nothing else like it. We roll our eyes when stores begin marketing the holiday months in advance, but it’s hard to blame them. Christmas is an entirely unique season, and even though we sometimes don’t want it to come at us too early, many of us can admit we also don’t want it to end. We’d rather hold on to Christmas than let it go, and it’s important to consider why.

This plan offers a 3-day journey through the book of 2 Thessalonians, making it ideal for both individual and group study.
