2Samuel 17:11

David was a man mightily helped. At every junction in his life, he enjoyed God's help. But these help came from people God raised in his life. As we embark on this journey to pray, we will contemplate Some of these people and the help they released to David. From there, we will take issues for our prayer.

We know David, Moses, Abraham, Peter, and Paul. But Scripture is also filled with men whose names rarely make the sermon title—men who built, fought, served, stayed, and stood firm when others walked away. This 7-day plan uncovers the stories of seven overlooked men whose faithfulness mattered to God. Because God isn’t only looking for men who can stand on platforms. He’s looking for men who will stand their ground.

There is no heartache equal to that of losing a loved one. Unanswered questions, despair, and perhaps self-blame can leave those left behind with feelings of hopelessness. This 16-day plan examines biblical examples of suicide as well as the smorgasbord of lies we are tempted to believe in a suicide situation. Replacing these lies with God’s Truth will bring healing and comfort to those left behind.

2 Samuel depicts the ascension and reign of King David following the death of Saul and Jonathan. David united the kingdom, established Jerusalem as the capital city, and extended the territory of Israel. At the crescendo of the book, God promises David that "your throne shall be established forever" (2 Samuel 7:16). Despite David's wickedness, God ultimately fulfills his promises to David through the person and work of Jesus Christ.
