2Samuel 1:2

Some people spend their lives building their own little empires, focused on their own needs, wants, circumstances, and fears. But others focus on building God’s Kingdom in this world—and find their life’s true power, fulfilment, and freedom. Join Bible teacher Berni Dymet from Christianityworks as he opens the Bible to discover how you can get your heart right, see things from God’s perspective, and make your life count.

In a world filled with distractions, it is easy to get lost in the noise of popular opinion. Everyone tells you to fight for your rights and stand up for yourself, yet we never consider the cost of always being self-seeking. Look into the importance of seeing the big picture by studying the lives of David, Daniel, and Joseph in this 4-day plan.

2 Samuel is all about Jesus! This 9-day plan will walk you through the book of 2 Samuel by reading just a chapter or two a day. Each day is accompanied by a short devotional and video that explains what’s happening and shows you how each part of the story points to Jesus and his Gospel.

2 Samuel depicts the ascension and reign of King David following the death of Saul and Jonathan. David united the kingdom, established Jerusalem as the capital city, and extended the territory of Israel. At the crescendo of the book, God promises David that "your throne shall be established forever" (2 Samuel 7:16). Despite David's wickedness, God ultimately fulfills his promises to David through the person and work of Jesus Christ.
