2Pedro 3:13

Shortly after writing his first letter, Peter hears word of false teaching spreading amongst the churches in Asia Minor. The letter focuses on combating false teachers and encouraging believers to grow in spiritual maturity by studying the Scriptures. Second Peter reminds us to be diligent in confirming our calling by cultivating Christ-likeness in all aspects of our lives.

On the worst days of her eating disorder recovery, Grace found hope in knowing that she wouldn’t struggle with her recovery forever. Covered by the blood of Christ, she knew that Heaven was her eternal home—and that she wouldn’t have a single struggle there. As you read 2 Peter 3, take heart in remembering that truth.

We can easily fall into believing things about God that aren’t true. At times, we see things on social media or the news that make us question Him. So, what is true about God? Does He know what He's doing? Is He really loving and kind, even when things don't seem to be going well? In this 4-Day Bible Plan, let’s learn how we can know God’s heart together.

Advent invites us to journey through the darkness to discover the light, the incarnate Word of God who "shines in the darkness" (John 1:5). This plan focuses upon the weekly themes of Advent—hope, peace, joy, and love—and serves as a guide through each week of the season. It is taken from our book, Dawn, with reflections for every day of Advent available within the Dwell Bible App.
