Tehillim (Psa) 7
7
1A shiggayon of David, which he sang to Adonai because of Kush the Ben-Y’mini:
2Adonai my God, in you I take refuge.
Save me from all my pursuers, and rescue me;
3otherwise, they will maul me like a lion
and tear me apart, with no rescuer present.
4Adonai my God, if I have caused this,
if there is guilt on my hands,
5if I paid back evil to him who was at peace with me,
when I even spared those who opposed me without cause;
6then let the enemy pursue me
until he overtakes me
and tramples my life down into the earth;
yes, let him lay my honor in the dust. (Selah)
7Rise up, Adonai, in your anger!
Arouse yourself against the fury of my foes.
Wake up for me; you commanded justice.
8May the assembly of the peoples surround you;
may you return to rule over them from on high.
9Adonai, who dispenses judgment to the peoples,
judge me, Adonai, according to my righteousness
and as my integrity deserves.
10Let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
and establish the righteous;
since you, righteous God,
test hearts and minds.
11My shield is God,
who saves the upright in heart.
12God is a righteous judge,
a God whose anger is present every day.
13If a person will not repent,
he sharpens his sword.
He has bent his bow, made it ready;
14he has also prepared for him
weapons of death, his arrows,
which he has made into burning shafts.
15Look how the wicked is pregnant with evil;
he conceives trouble, gives birth to lies.
16He makes a pit, digs it deep,
and falls into the hole he made.
17His mischief will return onto his own head,
his violence will recoil onto his own skull.
18I thank Adonai for his righteousness
and sing praise to the name of Adonai ‘Elyon.

Psalm 7
A shiggaion #7:0 Unknown musical term. by David; he sang it to the Lord about the ⌞slanderous⌟ words of Cush, a descendant of Benjamin.
1O Lord my God, I have taken refuge in you.
Save me, and rescue me from all who are pursuing me.
2Like a lion they will tear me to pieces
and drag me off with no one to rescue me.
3O Lord my God,
if I have done this—
if my hands are stained with injustice,
4if I have paid back my friend with evil
or rescued someone who has no reason to attack me—
5then let the enemy chase me and catch me.
Let him trample my life into the ground.
Let him lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6Arise in anger, O Lord.
Stand up against the fury of my attackers.
Wake up, my God.#7:6 Greek; Masoretic Text “Wake up to me.”
You have already pronounced judgment.
7Let an assembly of people gather around you.
Take your seat high above them.
8The Lord judges the people of the world.
Judge me, O Lord,
according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity.
9Let the evil within wicked people come to an end,
but make the righteous person secure,
O righteous God who examines thoughts and emotions.
10My shield is God above,
who saves those whose motives are decent.
11God is a fair judge,
a God who is angered by injustice every day.
12If a person does not change, God sharpens his sword.
By bending his bow, he makes it ready ⌞to shoot⌟.
13He prepares his deadly weapons
and turns them into flaming arrows.
14See how that person conceives evil,
is pregnant with harm,
and gives birth to lies.
15He digs a pit and shovels it out.
Then he falls into the hole that he made ⌞for others⌟.
16His mischief lands back on his own head.
His violence comes down on top of him.
17I will give thanks to the Lord for his righteousness.
I will make music to praise the name of the Lord Most High.
