Tehillim (Psa) 4
4
1For the leader. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David:
2O God, my vindicator!
Answer me when I call!
When I was distressed, you set me free;
now have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
3Men of rank, how long will you shame my honor,
love what is vain, chase after lies? (Selah)
4Understand that Adonai sets apart
the godly person for himself;
Adonai will hear when I call to him.
5You can be angry, but do not sin!
Think about this as you lie in bed,
and calm down. (Selah)
6Offer sacrifices rightly,
and put your trust in Adonai.
7Many ask, “Who can show us some good?”
Adonai, lift the light of your face over us!
8You have filled my heart with more joy
than all their grain and new wine.
9I will lie down and sleep in peace;
for, Adonai, you alone make me live securely.

Evening Prayer for Help#Ps 4 Hebrew title: A psalm by David.
1Answer me when I pray,
O God, my defender!
When I was in trouble, you helped me.
Be kind to me now and hear my prayer.
2How long will you people insult me?
How long will you love what is worthless
and go after what is false?
3Remember that the LORD has chosen the righteous for his own,
and he hears me when I call to him.

Eph 4.26
Tremble with fear and stop sinning;
think deeply about this,
when you lie in silence on your beds.
5Offer the right sacrifices to the LORD,
and put your trust in him.
6There are many who pray:
“Give us more blessings, O LORD.
Look on us with kindness!”
7But the joy that you have given me
is more than they will ever have
with all their corn and wine.
8When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace;
you alone, O LORD, keep me perfectly safe.
