Tehillim (Psa) 120
120
1A song of ascents:
I called to Adonai in my distress,
and he answered me.
2Rescue me, Adonai, from lips that tell lies,
from a tongue full of deceit.
3What has he in store for you, deceitful tongue?
What more will he do to you?
4A warrior’s sharp arrows,
with red-hot coals from a broom tree.
5How wretched I am, that I’m an alien in Meshekh,
that I must live among the tents of Keidar!
6I have had to live far too long
with those who hate peace.
7I am all for peace;
but when I speak, they are for war.

1In my distress I cried to יהוה, And He answered me.
2יהוה, deliver my being from false lips, From a treacherous tongue.
3What would one give to you, Or what would one do to you, O treacherous tongue?
4Sharp arrows of a mighty man, With coals of the broom-wood!
5Woe to me for I have sojourned in Mesheḵ, I have dwelt among the tents of Qĕḏar!
6My being has dwelt too long With him who hates peace.
7I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for fighting.
