Mattityahu (Mat) 8
8
1After Yeshua had come down from the hill, large crowds followed him. 2Then a man afflicted with tzara‘at came, kneeled down in front of him and said, “Sir, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 3Yeshua reached out his hand, touched him and said, “I am willing! Be cleansed!” And at once he was cleansed from his tzara‘at. 4Then Yeshua said to him, “See that you tell no one; but as a testimony to the people, go and let the cohen examine you, and offer the sacrifice that Moshe commanded.”
5As Yeshua entered K’far-Nachum, a Roman army officer came up and pleaded for help. 6“Sir, my orderly is lying at home paralyzed and suffering terribly!” 7Yeshua said, “I will go and heal him.” 8But the officer answered, “Sir, I am unfit to have you come into my home. Rather, if you will only give the command, my orderly will recover. 9For I too am a man under authority. I have soldiers under me, and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” 10On hearing this Yeshua was amazed and said to the people following him, “Yes! I tell you, I have not found anyone in Isra’el with such trust! 11Moreover, I tell you that many will come from the east and from the west to take their places at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven with Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya‘akov. 12But those born for the Kingdom will be thrown outside in the dark, where people will wail and grind their teeth!” 13Then Yeshua said to the officer, “Go; let it be for you as you have trusted.” And his orderly was healed at that very moment.
14Yeshua went to Kefa’s home and there saw Kefa’s mother-in-law sick in bed with a fever. 15He touched her hand, the fever left her, and she got up and began helping him.
16When evening came, many people held in the power of demons were brought to him. He expelled the spirits with a word and healed all who were ill. 17This was done to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Yesha‘yahu,
“He himself took our weaknesses
and bore our diseases”
18When Yeshua saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake. 19A Torah-teacher approached and said to him, “Rabbi, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20Yeshua said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds flying about have nests, but the Son of Man has no home of his own.” 21Another of the talmidim said to him, “Sir, first let me go and bury my father.” 22But Yeshua replied, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
23He boarded the boat, and his talmidim followed. 24Then, without warning, a furious storm arose on the lake, so that waves were sweeping over the boat. But Yeshua was sleeping. 25So they came and roused him, saying, “Sir! Help! We’re about to die!” 26He said to them, “Why are you afraid? So little trust you have!” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and there was a dead calm. 27The men were astounded. They asked, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him?”
28When Yeshua arrived at the other side of the lake, in the Gadarenes’ territory, there came out of the burial caves two men controlled by demons, so violent that no one dared travel on that road. 29They screamed, “What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” 30Now some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31The demons begged him, “If you are going to drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” 32“All right, go!” he told them. So they came out and went into the pigs, whereupon the entire herd rushed down the hillside into the lake and drowned. 33The swineherds fled, went off to the town and told the whole story, including what had happened to the demonized men. 34At this, the whole town came out to meet Yeshua. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their district.

Matthew 8
1¶ When he was come down from the mountain, many people followed him.
2And, behold, a leper came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me.
3And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4Then Jesus said unto him, See thou tell no one; but go, show thyself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
5¶ And when Jesus was entering into Capernaum, a centurion came unto him, beseeching him,
6and saying, Lord, my servant lies at home paralyzed, grievously tormented.
7And Jesus said unto him, I will come and heal him.
8The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou should come under my roof; but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it.
10When Jesus heard it, he marvelled and said to those that followed, Verily I say unto you that not even in Israel have I found such faith.
11But I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west and shall sit down at the table with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens.
12But the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13Then Jesus said unto the centurion, Go, and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in that same hour.
14¶ And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying in bed and with fever.
15And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose and ministered unto them.
16When evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils, and he cast out the spirits with the word and healed all that were sick
17that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.
18¶ Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he commanded that they depart unto the other side.
19And a certain scribe came and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee wherever thou goest.
20And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.
21And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
22But Jesus said unto him, Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.
23¶ And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
24And, behold, there arose a great moving in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves; but he was asleep.
25And his disciples came to him and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us; we perish.
26And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then, awake, he rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this that even the winds and the sea obey him!
28¶ And when he was come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with demons, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come here to torment us before the time?
30And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding.
31So the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine; and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the waters.
33And those that fed them fled and went into the city and told everything and what was befallen to the ones possessed of the demons.
34And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their borders.
