Matthew 4
4
1 Then Yeshua was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward. 3The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”#Deuteronomy 8:3
5 Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,
‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and,
‘On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’”#Psalms 91:11-12
7Yeshua said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”#Deuteronomy 6:16
8 Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Yeshua said to him, “Get behind me,#4:10 TR and NU read “Go away” instead of “Get behind me” Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’” #Deuteronomy 6:13
11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.
12 Now when Yeshua heard that Yochanan was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee. 13Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
15“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
towards the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles,
16 the people who sat in darkness saw a great light;
to those who sat in the region and shadow of death,
to them light has dawned.”#Isaiah 9:1-2
17 From that time, Yeshua began to proclaim, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
18 Walking by the sea of Galilee, he#4:18 TR reads “Yeshua” instead of “he” saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”
20 They immediately left their nets and followed him. 21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, Jacob the son of Zebedee, and Yochanan his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them. 22They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
23Yeshua went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness amongst the people. 24The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them. 25Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

Mattithyahu (Matthew) 4
4
1Then יהושע was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tried by the devil.
2And after having fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
3And the trier came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of Elohim, command that these stones become bread.”
4But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.’ ”# Deu. 8:3
5Then the devil took Him up into the set-apart city, set Him on the edge of the Set-apart Place,
6and said to Him, “If You are the Son of Elohim, throw Yourself down. For it has been written, ‘He shall command His messengers concerning you,’# Psa. 91:11 and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, so that you do not dash your foot against a stone.’ ”# Psa. 91:12
7יהושע said to him, “It has also been written, ‘You shall not try יהוה your Elohim.’ ”# Deu. 6:16
8Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain, and showed Him all the reigns of the world, and their esteem,
9and said to Him, “All these I shall give You if You fall down and worship me.”
10Then יהושע said to him, “Go, Satan! For it has been written, ‘You shall worship יהוה your Elohim, and Him alone you shall serve.’ ”# Deu. 6:13
11Then the devil left Him, and see, messengers came and attended Him.
12And יהושע, having heard that Yoḥanan had been put in prison, withdrew into Galil.
13And leaving Natsareth, He came and dwelt in Kephar Naḥum, which is by the sea, in the borders of Zeḇulun and Naphtali,
14to fill what was spoken by Yeshayahu the prophet, saying,
15“Land of Zeḇulun and land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Yardĕn, Galil of the nations –
16the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, and upon those who sat in the land and shadow of death, light arose to them.”# Isa. 9:1, 2
17From that time יהושע began to proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has drawn near.”
18And יהושע, walking by the Sea of Galil, saw two brothers, Shim‛on called Kĕpha, and Andri his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
19And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I shall make you fishers of men.”
20And immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
21And going on from there, He saw two other brothers, Ya‛aqoḇ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yoḥanan his brother, in the boat with Zaḇdai their father, mending their nets. And He called them,
22and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
23And יהושע went about all Galil, teaching in their congregations, and proclaiming the Good News of the reign, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness among the people.
24And news about Him went out into all Suria. And they brought to Him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and pains, and those who were demon-possessed, and epileptics, and paralytics. And He healed them.
25And large crowds – from Galil, and Dekapolis, and Yerushalayim, and Yehuḏah, and beyond the Yardĕn – followed Him.
