1 Chronicles 16
16
1 They brought in God’s ark, and set it in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. 2When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the LORD’s name. 3He gave to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.
4 He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the LORD’s ark, and to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel: 5Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with stringed instruments and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud; 6with Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with shofars#16:6 or, trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 Then on that day David first ordained giving of thanks to the LORD by the hand of Asaph and his brothers.
8Oh give thanks to the LORD.
Call on his name.
Make what he has done known amongst the peoples.
9 Sing to him.
Sing praises to him.
Tell of all his marvellous works.
10 Glory in his holy name.
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
11 Seek the LORD and his strength.
Seek his face forever more.
12 Remember his marvellous works that he has done,
his wonders, and the judgements of his mouth,
13 you offspring#16:13 or, seed of Israel his servant,
you children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14 He is the LORD our God.
His judgements are in all the earth.
15 Remember his covenant forever,
the word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
16 the covenant which he made with Abraham,
his oath to Isaac.
17 He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
18saying, “I will give you the land of Canaan,
The lot of your inheritance,”
19 when you were but a few men in number,
yes, very few, and foreigners in it.
20 They went about from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another people.
21 He allowed no man to do them wrong.
Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes,
22“Don’t touch my anointed ones!
Do my prophets no harm!”
23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth!
Display his salvation from day to day.
24 Declare his glory amongst the nations,
and his marvellous works amongst all the peoples.
25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised.
He also is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
27 Honour and majesty are before him.
Strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Ascribe to the LORD, you families of the peoples,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength!
29 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to his name.
Bring an offering, and come before him.
Worship the LORD in holy array.
30 Tremble before him, all the earth.
The world also is established that it can’t be moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad,
and let the earth rejoice!
Let them say amongst the nations, “The LORD reigns!”
32 Let the sea roar, and its fullness!
Let the field exult, and all that is in it!
33 Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD,
for he comes to judge the earth.
34Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his loving kindness endures forever.
35Say, “Save us, God of our salvation!
Gather us together and deliver us from the nations,
to give thanks to your holy name,
to triumph in your praise.”
36 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
from everlasting even to everlasting.
All the people said, “Amen,” and praised the LORD.
37 So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the LORD’s covenant, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required; 38and Obed-Edom with their sixty-eight relatives; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers; 39and Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests, before the LORD’s tabernacle in the high place that was at Gibeon, 40to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in the LORD’s law, which he commanded to Israel; 41and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his loving kindness endures forever; 42and with them Heman and Jeduthun with shofars#16:42 or, trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God, and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate. 43All the people departed, each man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.

Diḇre haYamim Aleph (1 Chronicles) 16
16
1And they brought the ark of Elohim, and set it in the midst of the Tent that Dawiḏ had pitched for it. And they brought ascending offerings and peace offerings before Elohim.
2And when Dawiḏ had made an end of offering the ascending offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the Name of יהוה,
3and gave a portion to everyone of Yisra’ĕl, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a measure, and a cake of raisins.
4And he appointed some of the Lĕwites to serve before the ark of יהוה, to bring to remembrance, and to thank, and to praise יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl:
5Asaph the chief, and his second Zeḵaryah, Ye‛i’ĕl, and Shemiramoth, and Yeḥi’ĕl, and Mattithyah, and Eliyaḇ, and Benayahu, and Oḇĕḏ-Eḏom, and Ye‛i’ĕl, with harps and lyres, but Asaph was sounding with cymbals;
6and Benayahu and Yaḥazi’ĕl the priests continually blew the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of Elohim.
7And on that day Dawiḏ first gave thanks to יהוה by the hand of Asaph and his brothers:
8Give thanks to יהוה, call upon His Name, Make known His deeds among the peoples!
9Sing to Him, sing praise to Him, Speak of all His wonders!
10Boast in His set-apart Name, Let the hearts of those seeking יהוה rejoice!
11Seek יהוה and His strength, Seek His face continually!
12Remember His wonders which He has done, His signs and the right-rulings of His mouth,
13O seed of Yisra’ĕl, His servant; O children of Ya‛aqoḇ, His chosen ones!
14He is יהוה our Elohim, His right-rulings are in all the earth.
15Remember His covenant forever, The Word He commanded for a thousand generations,
16Which He made with Aḇraham, And His oath to Yitsḥaq,
17And He established it to Ya‛aqoḇ for a law, To Yisra’ĕl as an everlasting covenant,
18Saying, “To you I give the land of Kena‛an, The portion of your inheritance,”
19When you were but few in number, Few indeed, and sojourners in it.
20And they went up and down, From one nation to another, And from one reign to another people.
21He allowed no one to oppress them, And He reproved sovereigns for their sakes, saying:
22“Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no evil.”
23Sing to יהוה, all the earth; Proclaim His deliverance from day to day.
24Declare His esteem among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
25For great is יהוה and greatly to be praised; And He is to be feared above all mighty ones.
26For all the mighty ones of the peoples are matters of naught,#See Psa. 96:5 But יהוה made the heavens.
27Excellency and splendour are before Him, Strength and gladness are in His place.
28Ascribe to יהוה, O clans of the peoples, Ascribe to יהוה esteem and strength.
29Ascribe to יהוה the esteem of His Name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Bow yourself to יהוה In the splendour of set-apartness!
30Tremble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, immovable.
31Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, “יהוה shall reign.”
32Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
33Let the trees of the forest then sing before יהוה, For He shall come to judge the earth.
34Give thanks to יהוה, for He is good, For His loving-commitment is everlasting!
35And say, “Save us, O Elohim of our deliverance; And gather us together, And deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to Your set-apart Name, And boast in Your praise.”
36Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl From everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, “Amĕn!” and praised יהוה.
37So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of יהוה to perform regular service before the ark, as each day required;
38also, Oḇĕḏ-Eḏom with his sixty-eight brothers, including Oḇĕḏ-Eḏom son of Yeḏuthun, and Ḥosah, to be gatekeepers;
39and Tsaḏoq the priest and his brothers the priests, before the Dwelling Place of יהוה at the high place that was at Giḇ‛on,
40to offer ascending offerings to יהוה on the slaughter-place of ascending offering regularly morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Torah of יהוה which He commanded Yisra’ĕl;
41and with them Hĕman and Yeḏuthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to יהוה, because His loving-commitment is everlasting;
42and with them Hĕman and Yeḏuthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and instruments for the songs of Elohim, and the sons of Yeḏuthun for the gate.
43And all the people went, each one to his house, and Dawiḏ returned to bless his house.
