1Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,

2Oh give thanks to the God of gods, # Dt 10:17

for His mercy endures forever.

3Oh give thanks to the Lord of lords,

for His mercy endures forever;

4to Him who alone does great wonders, # Ps 72:18

for His mercy endures forever;

5to Him who by wisdom made the heavens, # Ge 1:1; Jer 51:15

for His mercy endures forever;

6to Him who spread out the earth above the waters, # Ge 1:9; Ps 24:2

for His mercy endures forever;

7to Him who made the great lights,

for His mercy endures forever;

8the sun to rule by day,

for His mercy endures forever;

9the moon and stars to rule by night,

for His mercy endures forever;

10to Him who struck down the firstborn # Ex 12:29; Ps 78:51 of Egypt,
