Psalms 132
132
2Ch 6:41–42
A Song of Ascents.
1O Lord, remember David
and all his afflictions,
2#Ps 63:1; 84:2 how he swore unto the Lord,
and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob:
3#Ps 79:10; 80:5 “I will not come into my house,
nor go up to my bed;
4#Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8 I will not give sleep to my eyes,
or slumber to my eyelids,
5#Ps 42:11; 43:5 until I find a place for the Lord,
a dwelling for the mighty God of Jacob.”
6#2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8–9 We heard of it in Ephrathah;
we found it in the fields of Jaar.
7#Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 “We will go to His dwelling place,
we will worship at His footstool.”
8#Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 Arise, O Lord, go to Your resting place,
You and the ark of Your strength.
9#Ps 38:6; 18:2 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness,
and let Your godly ones shout for joy.
10#Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17 For Your servant David’s sake,
do not turn away Your anointed king.
11#Ps 42:5; 43:5 The Lord has sworn with a sure oath to David
that He will not turn from it:
“From the fruit of your body
I will set a son on your throne.
12If your children will keep My covenant
and My testimonies that I shall teach them,
then their children shall also sit
upon your throne forever.”
13For the Lord has chosen Zion;
He has desired it for His dwelling:
14“This is My resting place forever;
here I will dwell, for I have chosen it.
15I will abundantly bless her provisions;
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16I will also clothe her priests with salvation,
and her godly ones shall shout for joy.
17“There I will make a horn sprout for David;
I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one.
18His enemies I will clothe with shame,
but on him his crown will shine.”

Promise of Ben-David
1A Song of Ascents. Adonai, remember David, all his afflictions,
2and how he swore to Adonai, vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3“I will not enter the tent of my house nor lie on my bed,
4nor will I will give sleep to my eyes, nor slumber to my eyelids,
5till I find a place for Adonai, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6Behold, we heard of it in Ephratha, we found it in the fields of Joar.
7Let us go into His dwelling place, let us bow at His footstool.
8Arise, Adonai, to Your resting place— You, and the Ark of Your might.
9Let Your kohanim wear righteousness, and let Your godly ones sing for joy.
10For Your servant David’s sake do not turn away the face of Your anointed.
11Adonai has sworn to David a true promise He will not revoke: “From the fruit of your body I will set one upon your throne—
12if your children keep My covenant and My law that I will teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne forever.”
13For Adonai has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling:
14“This is My resting place forever. Here I dwell, for I have desired it.
15I will abundantly bless her food. I will satisfy her needy ones with bread.
16I will clothe her kohanim with salvation, and her godly ones will sing aloud for joy.
17There will I make a horn spring up for David, I have set up a lamp for My anointed.
18His enemies I will clothe with shame, but upon himself his crown will shine.”
