Psalms 108
108
Ps 57:7–11; 60:5–12
A Song. A Psalm of David.
1O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise with my glory. # Ps 57:7–11
2Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn!
3I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples,
and I will sing praises to You among the nations.
4For Your mercy is great above the heavens,
and Your truth reaches to the clouds. # Ps 36:5
5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and may Your glory be above all the earth. # Ps 57:5
6That Your beloved may be delivered,
save with Your right hand and answer me! # Ps 60:5–12
7God has spoken in His holiness:
“I will rejoice; I will divide up Shechem
and measure out the Valley of Sukkoth.
8Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine;
Ephraim also is the helmet of My head;
Judah is My scepter. # Ge 49:10
9Moab is My washpot;
over Edom will I cast My shoe;
over Philistia will I shout in triumph.”
10Who will bring me into the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
11Have You not rejected us, O God?
Will You not go out with our armies, O God? # Ps 44:9
12Give us help against the enemy,
for vain is the help of man.
13Through God we shall do valiantly,
for He it is who shall tread down our enemies. # Isa 63:3

Psalms 108
108
A Prayer for Help against Enemies#Ps 108 Hebrew title: A psalm by David; a song.
(Ps 57.7–11; 60.5–12)
1I have complete confidence, O God!
I will sing and praise you!
Wake up, my soul!
2Wake up, my harp and lyre!
I will wake up the sun.
3I will thank you, O LORD, among the nations.
I will praise you among the peoples.
4Your constant love reaches above the heavens;
your faithfulness touches the skies.
5Show your greatness in the sky, O God,
and your glory over all the earth.
6Save us by your might; answer my prayer,
so that the people you love may be rescued.
7From his sanctuary#108.7 From his sanctuary; or In his holiness. God has said,
“In triumph I will divide Shechem
and distribute the Valley of Sukkoth to my people.
8Gilead is mine, and Manasseh too;
Ephraim is my helmet
and Judah my royal sceptre.
9But I will use Moab as my washbasin
and I will throw my sandals on Edom,
as a sign that I own it.
I will shout in triumph over the Philistines.”
10Who, O God, will take me into the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
11Have you really rejected us?
Aren't you going to march out with our armies?
12Help us against the enemy;
human help is worthless.
13With God on our side we will win;
he will defeat our enemies.
