Luke 22:31-38

Luke 22:31-38 MEV

Then the Lord said, “Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has demanded to have you to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have repented, strengthen your brothers.” He said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You to prison and to death.” He said, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know Me.” Then He said to them, “When I sent you without purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it and also a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his garment and buy one. For I tell you, what is written must yet be accomplished in Me, ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ Indeed, what is written concerning Me has a fulfillment.” They said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.” He said to them, “It is enough.”
