Final Warnings and Greetings
1#Dt 19:15; 2Co 12:14This is the third time I am coming to you. “In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”#Dt 19:15. 2#2Co 1:23I told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time. And being absent now, I write to those who have sinned before, and to all the others, that if I come again, I will not spare anyone, 3#Mt 10:20since you seek proof of Christ speaking through me, who toward you is not weak, but is mighty in you. 4#1Pe 3:18; Ro 6:4; 1:4For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. So also we are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God serving you.
5#1Co 11:28; Ro 8:10Examine yourselves, seeing whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. 6I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified. 7Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do that which is honorable, whether or not we may seem disqualified. 8For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth. 9#2Co 13:11; 1Th 3:10For we are glad when we are weak, and you are strong. We wish even your perfection. 10#2Co 10:8; 2:3Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should be sharp, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.
11#Ro 15:33; Mk 9:50; Ro 12:16Finally, brothers, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, and live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
12#Ro 16:16Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13All the saints greet you.
14#Ro 16:20; Php 2:1; Jude 1:21The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Final Warnings
1This will be my third visit to you. “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”#13:1 Deut. 19:15 2I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent: On my return I will not spare those who sinned earlier or any of the others, 3since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. 4For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him in our dealing with you.
5Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? 6And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. 7Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong—not so that people will see that we have stood the test but so that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed. 8For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. 9We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong; and our prayer is that you may be fully restored. 10This is why I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may not have to be harsh in my use of authority—the authority the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.
Final Greetings
11Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
12Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13All God’s people here send their greetings.
14May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
