1 Corinthians 3
3
Fellow Servants of God
1Brothers, I could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to worldly, even as to babes in Christ. # 1Co 14:20 2I have fed you with milk and not with solid food. # 1Pe 2:2 For to this day you were not able to endure it. # Jn 16:12 Nor are you able now, 3for you are still worldly. For while there is envy, strife, and divisions among you, # 1Co 1:11; 11:18 are you not worldly and behaving as mere men? 4For while one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” # 1Co 1:12 are you not worldly?
5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to each one? # 1Co 3:10; 2Co 6:4 6I have planted, # Ac 18:4–11; 1Co 9:1 Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7So then neither is he who plants nor he who waters anything, # Gal 6:3 but God who gives the increase. 8Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. # Ps 62:12; Mt 16:27 9For we are laborers together with God: # 2Co 6:1 You are God’s field; # Eze 17:8 you are God’s building. # Eph 2:20–22
10According to the grace of God which has been given to me, # Ro 12:3 as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, but another builds on it. # Ro 15:20 Now let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11For no one can lay another foundation than that which was laid, which is Jesus Christ. # Isa 28:16; Mt 16:18; Eph 2:20 12Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or stubble, 13each one’s work will be revealed. # 1Co 4:5 For the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. # 2Th 1:7–10 14If anyone’s work which he has built on the foundation endures, he will receive a reward. # 1Co 3:8; 4:5 15If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss. But he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. # Jude 23
16Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? # 1Co 6:19; 2Co 6:16 17If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy. And you are His temple.
18Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, # Isa 5:21; Gal 6:3 let him become a fool that he may be wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness,” # Job 5:13 # 3:19 Job 5:13. 20and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.” # Ps 94:11 # 3:20 Ps 94:11. 21Therefore let no one boast in men. # 1Co 4:6 For all things are yours: # Ro 8:32 22whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come, all are yours, 23and you are Christ’s, # 2Co 10:7; Gal 3:29 and Christ is God’s.

1 Corinthians 3
3
Building Together on God’s Foundation
1And I, brothers and sisters, could not speak to you as Spirit-filled but as worldly—as infants in Messiah.
2I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready. Indeed, even now you are not yet ready,
3for you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, aren’t you worldly and walking in a human way?
4For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere humans?
5What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you came to trust—and to each as the Lord gave.
6I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.
7So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow.
8Now he who plants and he who waters work as one, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
9For we are God’s co-workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
10According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each consider carefully how he builds on it.
11For no one can lay any other foundation than what is already laid—which is Yeshua the Messiah.
12Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13each one’s work will become clear. For the Day will show it, because it is to be revealed by fire; and the fire itself will test each one’s work—what sort it is.
14If anyone’s work built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.
15If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss—he himself will be saved, but as through fire.
16Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that the Ruach Elohim dwells among you?
17If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
18Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks he is wise in this age, let him become a fool so he may become wise.
19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written, “He catches the clever in their craftiness.”
20And again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are useless.”
21So let no one boast about men. For all things are yours—
22whether Paul or Apollos or Kefa, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come. All are yours,
23and you are Messiah’s, and Messiah is God’s.
