Procedures for the Peace Offering
1“If you present an animal from the herd as a peace offering to the Lord, it may be a male or a female, but it must have no defects. 2Lay your hand on the animal’s head, and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tabernacle.#3:2 Hebrew Tent of Meeting; also in 3:8, 13. Then Aaron’s sons, the priests, will splatter its blood against all sides of the altar. 3The priest must present part of this peace offering as a special gift to the Lord. This includes all the fat around the internal organs, 4the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These must be removed with the kidneys, 5and Aaron’s sons will burn them on top of the burnt offering on the wood burning on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
6“If you present an animal from the flock as a peace offering to the Lord, it may be a male or a female, but it must have no defects. 7If you present a sheep as your offering, bring it to the Lord, 8lay your hand on its head, and slaughter it in front of the Tabernacle. Aaron’s sons will then splatter the sheep’s blood against all sides of the altar. 9The priest must present the fat of this peace offering as a special gift to the Lord. This includes the fat of the broad tail cut off near the backbone, all the fat around the internal organs, 10the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These must be removed with the kidneys, 11and the priest will burn them on the altar. It is a special gift of food presented to the Lord.
12“If you present a goat as your offering, bring it to the Lord, 13lay your hand on its head, and slaughter it in front of the Tabernacle. Aaron’s sons will then splatter the goat’s blood against all sides of the altar. 14The priest must present part of this offering as a special gift to the Lord. This includes all the fat around the internal organs, 15the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These must be removed with the kidneys, 16and the priest will burn them on the altar. It is a special gift of food, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. All the fat belongs to the Lord.
17“You must never eat any fat or blood. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation, wherever you live.”

The Peace Offering
1‘When his offering is a #Lev. 7:11, 29sacrifice of a peace offering, if he offers it of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it #Lev. 1:3; 22:20–24without blemish before the Lord. 2And #Ex. 29:10, 11, 16, 20; Lev. 1:4, 5; 16:21he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of meeting; and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall #Lev. 1:5sprinkle the blood all around on the altar. 3Then he shall offer from the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire to the Lord. #Ex. 29:13, 22; Lev. 1:8; 3:16; 4:8, 9The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 4the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; 5and Aaron’s sons #Ex. 29:13; Lev. 6:12; 7:28–34shall burn it on the altar upon the #2 Chr. 35:14burnt sacrifice, which is on the wood that is on the fire, as an #Num. 28:3–10offering made by fire, a #Num. 15:8–10sweet aroma to the Lord.
6‘If his offering as a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord is of the flock, whether male or female, #Lev. 3:1; 22:20–24he shall offer it without blemish. 7If he offers a #Num. 15:4, 5lamb as his offering, then he shall #1 Kin. 8:62offer it #Lev. 17:8, 9before the Lord. 8And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of meeting; and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar.
9‘Then he shall offer from the sacrifice of the peace offering, as an offering made by fire to the Lord, its fat and the whole fat tail which he shall remove close to the backbone. And the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 10the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; 11and the priest shall burn them on the altar as #Lev. 21:6, 8, 17, 21, 22; 22:25; Num. 28:2; (Ezek. 44:7; Mal. 1:7, 12)food, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
12‘And if his #Num. 15:6–11offering is a goat, then he shall offer it before the Lord. 13He shall lay his hand on its head and kill it before the tabernacle of meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar. 14Then #Lev. 3:1, 7he shall offer from it his offering, as an offering made by fire to the Lord. The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 15the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; 16and the priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma; #Lev. 7:23–25; 1 Sam. 2:15; 2 Chr. 7:7all the fat is the Lord’s.
17‘This shall be a #Lev. 6:18; 7:36; 17:7; 23:14perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor #Gen. 9:4; Lev. 7:23, 26; 17:10, 14; 1 Sam. 14:33blood.’ ”
