Prelude to the Bowl Judgments
1Then #Rev. 12:1, 3I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: #Rev. 21:9seven angels having the seven last plagues, #Rev. 14:10for in them the wrath of God is complete.
2And I saw something like #Rev. 4:6a sea of glass #(Matt. 3:11)mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, #Rev. 13:14, 15over his image and over his mark and over the #Rev. 13:17number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, #Rev. 5:8having harps of God. 3They sing #Ex. 15:1–21the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the #Rev. 15:3Lamb, saying:
#Deut. 32:3, 4; Ps. 92:5; Rom. 11:33“Great and marvelous are Your works,
Lord God Almighty!
#Ps. 145:17; Rev. 16:7Just and true are Your ways,
O King of the saints!
4#Ex. 15:14Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name?
For You alone are #Lev. 11:44; 1 Pet. 1:16; Rev. 4:8holy.
For #Ps. 86:9; Is. 66:23all nations shall come and worship before You,
For Your judgments have been manifested.”
5After these things I looked, and behold, #Ex. 38:21; Num. 1:50; Heb. 8:5; Rev. 13:6the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. 6And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, #Ex. 28:6clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands. 7#Rev. 4:6Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God #1 Thess. 1:9who lives forever and ever. 8#Ex. 19:18; 40:34; Lev. 16:2; 1 Kin. 8:10; 2 Chr. 5:13; Is. 6:4The temple was filled with smoke #2 Thess. 1:9from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

The Last Troubles
1Then I saw another wonder in heaven. It was great and amazing. There were seven angels bringing seven troubles. These are the last troubles, because after these troubles God’s anger is finished.
2I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. All of those who had won the victory over the beast and his idol and over the number of his name were standing by the sea. They had harps that God had given them. 3They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:
“You do great and wonderful things, Psalm 111:2
Lord God, the God of heaven’s armies. Amos 3:13
Everything the Lord does is right and true, Psalm 145:17
King of the nations.# Some Greek copies read “King of the ages.”
4Everyone will respect you, Lord. Jeremiah 10:7
They will honor you.
Only you are holy.
All people will come
and worship you. Psalm 86:9-10
This is because he is a faithful God who does no wrong.
He is right and fair.” Deuteronomy 32:4
5After this I saw the temple (the Tent of the Agreement) in heaven. The temple was opened. 6And the seven angels bringing the seven troubles came out of the temple. They were dressed in clean, shining linen. They wore golden bands tied around their chests. 7Then one of the four living things gave seven golden bowls to the seven angels. The bowls were filled with the anger of God, who lives forever and ever. 8The temple was filled with smoke from the glory and the power of God. No one could enter the temple until the seven troubles of the seven angels were finished.
