Revelation 14

The Lamb and the 144,000
1Then I looked, and behold, a #Rev. 5:6Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him #Rev. 7:4; 14:3one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name #Ezek. 9:4; Rev. 7:3; 22:4written on their foreheads. 2And I heard a voice from heaven, #Rev. 1:15; 19:6like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of #Rev. 5:8harpists playing their harps. 3They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song #Rev. 5:9except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 4These are the ones who were not defiled with women, #(Matt. 19:12; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:27)for they are virgins. These are the ones #Rev. 3:4; 7:17who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These #Rev. 5:9were redeemed from among men, #Heb. 12:23; James 1:18being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 5And #Ps. 32:2; Zeph. 3:13; Mal. 2:6; John 1:47; 1 Pet. 2:22in their mouth was found no deceit, for #Eph. 5:27they are without fault before the throne of God.
The Proclamations of Three Angels
6Then I saw another angel #Rev. 8:13flying in the midst of heaven, #Eph. 3:9having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—#Rev. 13:7to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— 7saying with a loud voice, #Rev. 11:18“Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; #Neh. 9:6and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
8And another angel followed, saying, #Is. 21:9; Jer. 51:8; Rev. 18:2“Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because #Jer. 51:7; Rev. 17:2she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
9Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, #Rev. 13:14, 15; 14:11“If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his #Rev. 13:16mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10he himself #Ps. 75:8shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is #Rev. 18:6poured out full strength into #Rev. 16:19the cup of His indignation. #Rev. 20:10He shall be tormented with #Gen. 19:24; Ezek. 38:22; 2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:20fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11And #Is. 34:8–10; Rev. 18:9, 18; 19:3the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
12#Rev. 13:10Here is the patience of the saints; #Rev. 12:17here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
13Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: #Eccl. 4:1, 2‘Blessed are the dead #1 Cor. 15:18; (1 Thess. 4:16)who die in the Lord from now on.’ ”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, #2 Thess. 1:7; Heb. 4:9, 10; Rev. 6:11“that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow #(1 Cor. 3:11–15; 15:58)them.”
Reaping the Earth’s Harvest
14Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15And another angel #Rev. 16:17came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, #Joel 3:13; Mark 4:29; Rev. 14:18“Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest #Jer. 51:33; (Matt. 13:39–41)of the earth is ripe.” 16So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
Reaping the Grapes of Wrath
17Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18And another angel came out from the altar, #Rev. 16:8who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, #Joel 3:13; Mark 4:29; Rev. 14:15“Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” 19So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into #Is. 63:2; Rev. 19:15the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20And #Is. 63:3; Lam. 1:15; Rev. 19:15the winepress was trampled #Heb. 13:12; Rev. 11:8outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, #Is. 34:3up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.

Revelation 14
14
The Lamb and the 144,000
1I looked, and there in front of me was the Lamb. He was standing on Mount Zion. With him were 144,000 people. Written on their foreheads were his name and his Father’s name. 2I heard a sound from heaven. It was like the roar of rushing waters and loud thunder. The sound I heard was like the music of harps being played. 3Then everyone sang a new song in front of the throne. They sang it in front of the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000. They had been set free from the evil of the earth. 4They had not committed sexual sins with women. They had kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among human beings as a first offering to God and the Lamb. 5They told no lies. They are without blame.
The Three Angels
6I saw another angel. He was flying high in the air. He came to tell everyone on earth the good news that will always be true. He told it to every nation, tribe and people, no matter what language they spoke. 7In a loud voice he said, “Have respect for God. Give him glory. The hour has come for God to judge. Worship him who made the heavens and the earth. Worship him who made the sea and the springs of water.”
8A second angel followed him. He said, “ ‘Fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen!’ (Isaiah 21:9) The city of Babylon made all the nations drink the strong wine of her terrible sins.”
9A third angel followed them. He said in a loud voice, “There will be trouble for anyone who worships the beast and its statue! There will be trouble for anyone who has its mark on their forehead or their hand! 10They, too, will drink the wine of God’s great anger. His wine has been poured full strength into the cup of his anger. They will be burned with flaming sulfur. The holy angels and the Lamb will see it happen. 11The smoke of their terrible suffering will rise for ever and ever. Day and night, there will be no rest for anyone who worships the beast and its statue. There will be no rest for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” 12God’s people need to be very patient. They are the ones who obey God’s commands. And they remain faithful to Jesus.
13Then I heard a voice from heaven. “Write this,” it said. “Blessed are the dead who die as believers in the Lord from now on.”
“Yes,” says the Holy Spirit. “They will rest from their labor. What they have done will not be forgotten.”
The Harvest of the Earth
14I looked, and there in front of me was a white cloud. Sitting on the cloud was one who looked “like a son of man.” (Daniel 7:13) He wore a gold crown on his head. In his hand was a sharp, curved blade for cutting grain. 15Then another angel came out of the temple. He called in a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud. “Take your blade,” he said. “Cut the grain. The time has come. The earth is ready to be harvested.” 16So the one sitting on the cloud swung his blade over the earth. And the earth was harvested.
17Another angel came out of the temple in heaven. He too had a sharp, curved blade. 18Still another angel came from the altar. He was in charge of the fire on the altar. He called out in a loud voice to the angel who had the sharp blade. “Take your blade,” he said, “and gather the bunches of grapes from the earth’s vine. Its grapes are ripe.” 19So the angel swung his blade over the earth. He gathered its grapes. Then he threw them into a huge winepress. The winepress stands for God’s anger. 20In the winepress outside the city, the grapes were stomped on. Blood flowed out of the winepress. It spread over the land for about 180 miles. It rose as high as the horses’ heads.
