The Messiah’s Triumph and Kingdom
1Why #Acts 4:25, 26do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the #(Matt. 12:14; 26:3, 4, 59–66; 27:1, 2; Mark 3:6; 11:18)rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His #(John 1:41)Anointed, saying,
3“Let #Luke 19:14us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”
4He who sits in the heavens #Ps. 37:13shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6“Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”
7“I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
#Matt. 3:17; Mark 1:1, 11; Luke 3:22; John 1:18; Acts 13:33; (Heb. 1:5; 5:5)‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9#Ps. 89:23; 110:5, 6; (Rev. 2:26, 27; 12:5; 19:15)You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”
10Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When #(Rev. 6:16, 17)His wrath is kindled but a little.
#(Ps. 5:11; 34:22)Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
