A Song of Salvation
1In #Is. 2:11; 12:1that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
“We have a strong city;
#Is. 60:18God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.
2#Ps. 118:19, 20Open the gates,
That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.
3You will keep him in perfect #Is. 57:19; (Phil. 4:6, 7)peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
4Trust in the Lord forever,
#Is. 12:2; 45:17For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
5For He brings down those who dwell on high,
#Is. 25:11, 12The lofty city;
He lays it low,
He lays it low to the ground,
He brings it down to the dust.
6The foot shall tread it down—
The feet of the poor
And the steps of the needy.”
7The way of the just is uprightness;
#Ps. 37:23O Most Upright,
You weigh the path of the just.
8Yes, #Is. 64:5in the way of Your judgments,
O Lord, we have #Is. 25:9; 33:2waited for You;
The desire of our soul is for Your name
And for the remembrance of You.
9#Ps. 63:6; Song 3:1; Is. 50:10; Luke 6:12With my soul I have desired You in the night,
Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;
For when Your judgments are in the earth,
The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
10#Eccl. 8:12; (Rom. 2:4)Let grace be shown to the wicked,
Yet he will not learn righteousness;
In #Ps. 143:10the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly,
And will not behold the majesty of the Lord.
11Lord, when Your hand is lifted up, #Job 34:27; Ps. 28:5; Is. 5:12they will not see.
But they will see and be ashamed
For their envy of people;
Yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.
12Lord, You will establish peace for us,
For You have also done all our works in us.
13O Lord our God, #2 Chr. 12:8masters besides You
Have had dominion over us;
But by You only we make mention of Your name.
14They are dead, they will not live;
They are deceased, they will not rise.
Therefore You have punished and destroyed them,
And made all their memory to #Eccl. 9:5; Is. 14:22perish.
15You have increased the nation, O Lord,
You have #Is. 9:3increased the nation;
You are glorified;
You have expanded all the borders of the land.
16Lord, #Is. 37:3; Hos. 5:15in trouble they have visited You,
They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.
17As #Is. 13:8; (John 16:21)a woman with child
Is in pain and cries out in her pangs,
When she draws near the time of her delivery,
So have we been in Your sight, O Lord.
18We have been with child, we have been in pain;
We have, as it were, brought forth wind;
We have not accomplished any deliverance in the earth,
Nor have #Ps. 17:14the inhabitants of the world fallen.
19#Is. 25:8; (Ezek. 37:1–14)Your dead shall live;
Together with my dead body they shall arise.
#(Dan. 12:2); Hos. 13:14Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust;
For your dew is like the dew of herbs,
And the earth shall cast out the dead.
Take Refuge from the Coming Judgment
20Come, my people, #Ex. 12:22, 23; (Ps. 91:1, 4)enter your chambers,
And shut your doors behind you;
Hide yourself, as it were, #(Ps. 30:5; Is. 54:7, 8; 2 Cor. 4:17)for a little moment,
Until the indignation is past.
21For behold, the Lord #Mic. 1:3; (Jude 14)comes out of His place
To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;
The earth will also disclose her blood,
And will no more cover her slain.

Isaiah 26
26
1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation doth he appoint for walls and bulwarks. 2Open ye the gates, and the righteous nation which keepeth faithfulness shall enter in. 3Thou wilt keep in perfect peace the mind stayed on thee, for he confideth in thee. 4Confide ye in Jehovah for ever; for in Jah, Jehovah, is the rock of ages.
5For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low, he layeth it low to the ground, he bringeth it even to the dust. 6The foot shall tread it down, — the feet of the afflicted, the steps of the poor. 7The way of the just is uprightness: thou, the Upright, dost make the path of the just even. 8Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to thy memorial. 9With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. 10If favour be shewn to the wicked, he doth not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness he dealeth unjustly, and beholdeth not the majesty of Jehovah. 11Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, but they do not see: yet they shall see thy jealousy for the people, and be ashamed; yea, the fire which is for thine adversaries shall devour them.
12Jehovah, thou wilt ordain peace for us; for thou also hast wrought all our works for us. 13Jehovah our God#GodHebrew: Elohim other lords than thee have had dominion over us; by thee only will we make mention of thy name. 14They are dead, they shall not live; deceased, they shall not rise: for thou hast visited and destroyed them, and made all memory of them to perish. 15Thou hast increased the nation, Jehovah, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified. Thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth. 16Jehovah, in trouble they sought thee; they poured out their whispered prayer when thy chastening was upon them. 17As a woman with child, that draweth near her delivery, is in travail, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been before thee, Jehovah. 18We have been with child, we have been in travail, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought the deliverance of the land, neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. 19Thy dead shall live, my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing in triumph, ye that dwell in dust; for thy dew is the dew of the morning, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.
20Come, my people, enter into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee; hide thyself just for a little moment, until the indignation be past. 21For behold, Jehovah cometh out of his place to visit the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth upon them; and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
