Leviticus 24

Olive Oil and Bread Set Before the Lord
1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually. 3Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the Lord from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. 4The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the Lord must be tended continually.
5“Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using two-tenths of an ephah#24:5 That is, probably about 7 pounds or about 3.2 kilograms for each loaf. 6Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold before the Lord. 7By each stack put some pure incense as a memorial#24:7 Or representative portion to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the Lord. 8This bread is to be set out before the Lord regularly, Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant. 9It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is a most holy part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the Lord.”
A Blasphemer Put to Death
10Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite. 11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.) 12They put him in custody until the will of the Lord should be made clear to them.
13Then the Lord said to Moses: 14“Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him. 15Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible; 16anyone who blasphemes the name of the Lord is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
17“ ‘Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death. 18Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution—life for life. 19Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner: 20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. 21Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death. 22You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the Lord your God.’ ”
23Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the Lord commanded Moses.

Ex 27:20–21
1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2#Ex 27:20–21Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the lamp, to cause the lamps to burn continually. 3Outside the veil of the sanctuary, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it continually, from the evening until the morning before the Lord. It shall be a perpetual statute in your generations. 4#Ex 31:8; 39:37He shall arrange the lamps continually on the pure gold lampstand before the Lord.
The Bread of the Tabernacle

The Punishment for Blasphemy
10The son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel, and this son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel fought together in the camp. 11#Ex 3:15; 18:22And the Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the name of the Lord and cursed. And they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.) 12#Ex 18:15–16; Nu 15:34And they put him in custody, so that the words of the Lord might be shown to them.
13The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 14#Dt 17:7; Lev 20:27Bring outside the camp him who has cursed, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let the entire congregation stone him. 15#Lev 5:1; Nu 9:13You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. 16#Mt 12:31Whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and the entire congregation shall certainly stone him. The foreigner as well as the native in the land, when he blasphemes the name, then he shall be put to death.
17#Ge 9:5–6; Dt 19:11–12Whoever kills any man shall surely be put to death. 18#Lev 24:21Whoever kills an animal shall make restitution, animal for animal. 19#Dt 19:21; Mt 5:38If anyone causes injury to his neighbor, as he has done, so shall it be done to him, 20#Dt 19:21; Mt 5:38fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has caused an injury to another, so shall it be done to him. 21#Lev 24:17–18Whoever kills an animal shall make restitution. And whoever kills a man shall be put to death. 22#Ex 12:49; Nu 9:14You shall have one manner of law for the foreigner as for the native, for I am the Lord your God.
23So Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and they brought outside the camp him who had cursed, and stoned him. And the children of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses.
