Deuteronomy 26:6-9

As we consider the state of the world we live in, where war and conflict seem to dominate every news channel, natural disasters impact people globally and where broken relationships are common within communities, we take a look at Psalm 46, which gives us the confidence that God is the unshakeable foundation in any and every circumstance. We change, our situations change, but our God does not.

The Bible speaks repeatedly to God’s heart for those who are refugees—individuals who have been forced by persecution to flee their country of origin and take up residence in a new land. This reading plan is adapted from Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis.

When we fool ourselves into thinking that God is after our money or needs our money, we miss the whole point. God is after our hearts, and many times in our day and age, we have trouble separating our money from our hearts. In fact, we've found many times it's one of the hardest things for people to be obedient in. We've also seen that many Christians carry around unnecessary anxiety and worry because they refuse to trust God with their finances.
