Mark 16

Jesus Rises From the Dead
1The Sabbath day ended. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices. They were going to use them for Jesus’ body. 2Very early on the first day of the week, they were on their way to the tomb. It was just after sunrise. 3They asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance to the tomb?”
4Then they looked up and saw that the stone had been rolled away. The stone was very large. 5They entered the tomb. As they did, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe. He was sitting on the right side. They were alarmed.
6“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. But he has risen! He is not here! See the place where they had put him. 7Go! Tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. It will be just as he told you.’ ”
8The women were shaking and confused. They went out and ran away from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
9Jesus rose from the dead early on the first day of the week. He appeared first to Mary Magdalene. He had driven seven demons out of her. 10She went and told those who had been with him. She found them crying. They were very sad. 11They heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him. But they did not believe it.
12After that, Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them. This happened while they were walking out in the country. 13The two returned and told the others about it. But the others did not believe them either.
14Later Jesus appeared to the 11 disciples as they were eating. He spoke firmly to them because they had no faith. They would not believe those who had seen him after he rose from the dead.
15He said to them, “Go into all the world. Preach the good news to everyone. 16Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who does not believe will be punished. 17Here are the miraculous signs that those who believe will do. In my name they will drive out demons. They will speak in languages they had not known before. 18They will pick up snakes with their hands. And when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all. They will place their hands on sick people. And the people will get well.”
19When the Lord Jesus finished speaking to them, he was taken up into heaven. He sat down at the right hand of God. 20Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere. The Lord worked with them. And he backed up his word by the signs that went with it.

Mark (Mrk) 16

1When Shabbat was over, Miryam of Magdala, Miryam the mother of Ya‘akov, and Shlomit bought spices in order to go and anoint Yeshua. 2Very early the next day, just after sunrise, they went to the tomb. 3They were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance to the tomb for us?” 4Then they looked up and saw that the stone, even though it was huge, had been rolled back already. 5On entering the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right; and they were dumbfounded. 6But he said, “Don’t be so surprised! You’re looking for Yeshua from Natzeret, who was executed on the stake. He has risen, he’s not here! Look at the place where they laid him. 7But go and tell his talmidim, especially Kefa, that he is going to the Galil ahead of you. You will see him there, just as he told you.” 8Trembling but ecstatic they went out and fled from the tomb, and they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
9When Yeshua rose early Sunday, he appeared first to Miryam of Magdala, from whom he had expelled seven demons. 10She went and told those who had been with him, as they were crying and mourning. 11But when they heard that he was alive and that she had seen him, they wouldn’t believe it.
12After that, Yeshua appeared in another form to two of them as they were walking into the country. 13They went and told the others, but they didn’t believe them either.
14Later, Yeshua appeared to the Eleven as they were eating, and he reproached them for their lack of trust and their spiritual insensitivity in not having believed those who had seen him after he had risen. 15Then he said to them, “As you go throughout the world, proclaim the Good News to all creation. 16Whoever trusts and is immersed will be saved; whoever does not trust will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who do trust: in my name they will drive out demons, speak with new tongues, 18not be injured if they handle snakes or drink poison, and heal the sick by laying hands on them.”
19So then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Yeshua was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God. 20And they went out and proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the message by the accompanying signs.
