Revelation 12
1¶ And there appeared a great sign in the heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;
2and she being with child cried out, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3And there appeared another sign in the heaven; and, behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered, to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all the Gentiles with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up unto God and to his throne.
6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.
7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8and did not prevail; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9And the great dragon was cast out, the serpent of old, who is called Devil and the Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation and virtue and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.
11And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12¶ Therefore, rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.
13And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man child.
14And to the woman were given two wings of the great eagle that she might fly from the presence of the serpent into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time.
15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a river after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon had cast out of his mouth.
17And the dragon was wroth with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The Woman and the Dragon
1#Rev 12:3; Mt 24:30A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2#Gal 4:19; Isa 53:11She was with child and cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. 3#Rev 17:12; Isa 27:1Then another sign appeared in heaven: There was a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4#Jn 8:44; Rev 8:7His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as He was born. 5She gave birth to a male Child, “who was to rule all nations with an iron scepter.”#Ps 2:9. And her Child was caught up to God and to His throne. 6#Rev 11:2–3; 12:4The woman fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared by God, that they may nourish her there for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
7#Jude 1:9; Da 10:13Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought, 8but they did not prevail, nor was there a place for them in heaven any longer. 9#Lk 10:18; Jn 12:31; Ge 3:1The great dragon was cast out, that ancient serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
10#Rev 11:15; Job 1:9Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying:
“Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of His Christ have come,
for the accuser of our brothers,
who accused them before our God day and night,
has been cast down.
11#Lk 14:26; Jn 16:33 They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony,
and they loved not their lives
unto the death.
12#Rev 8:13; 10:6 Therefore rejoice, O heavens,
and you who dwell in them!
Woe unto the inhabitants of the earth and the sea!
For the devil has come down to you in great wrath,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13When the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14#Rev 12:6; Ex 19:4; Da 7:25The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is to be nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15#Isa 59:19Then the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16But the earth helped the woman. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the flood which the dragon spewed out of his mouth. 17#Rev 14:12; Ge 3:15; Rev 1:2Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and he went to wage war with the remnant of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
