Psalm 90
A Prayer of Moses the man of God.
1¶ Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.
2Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
3Thou dost turn unto man until he is broken and thou saith, Become converted, ye sons of Adam.
4For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past and as a watch in the night.
5Thou dost cause them to pass by as the waters of a river; they are as a dream, which is strong in the morning like grass.
6In the morning it blossoms and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.
7¶ For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath we are troubled.
8Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
9For all our days decline because of thy wrath; we end our years according to the word.
10The days of our years are seventy, and of the most valiant eighty years, yet their strength is labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
11Who knows the power of thine anger? that thy wrath is not less than our fear.
12¶ Cause us to learn this that we might number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
13Return unto us, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy slaves.
14O satisfy us early with thy mercy, and we shall sing and be glad all our days.
15Make us glad according to the days in which thou hast afflicted us and the years in which we have seen evil.
16Let thy work appear in thy slaves and thy glory upon their sons.
17And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and set thou aright the work of our hands upon us; yea, set thou aright the work of our hands.

Psalm 90
A prayer by Moses, the man of God.
1O Lord, you have been our refuge throughout every generation.
2Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world, you were God.
You are God from everlasting to everlasting.
3You turn mortals back into dust
and say, “Return, descendants of Adam.”
4Indeed, in your sight a thousand years are like a single day,
like yesterday—already past—
like an hour in the night.
5You sweep mortals away.
They are a dream.
They sprout again in the morning like cut grass.
6In the morning they blossom and sprout.
In the evening they wither and dry up.
7Indeed, your anger consumes us.
Your rage terrifies us.
8You have set our sins in front of you.
You have put our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9Indeed, all our days slip away because of your fury.
We live out our years like one ⌞long⌟ sigh.
10Each of us lives for 70 years—
or even 80 if we are in good health.
But the best of them ⌞bring⌟ trouble and misery.
Indeed, they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11Who fully understands the power of your anger?
A person fears you more when he better understands your fury.
12Teach us to number each of our days
so that we may grow in wisdom.
13Return, Lord! How long … ?
Change your plans about ⌞us,⌟ your servants.
14Satisfy us every morning with your mercy
so that we may sing joyfully and rejoice all our days.
15Make us rejoice for as many days as you have made us suffer,
for as many years as we have experienced evil.
16Let ⌞us,⌟ your servants, see what you can do.
Let our children see your glorious power.
17Let the kindness of the Lord our God be with us.
Make us successful in everything we do.
Yes, make us successful in everything we do.
