So he gave them what they wanted, but he also sent a terrible disease among them. The people in the camp were jealous of Moses and of Aaron, the holy priest of the LORD. Then the ground opened up and swallowed Dathan and closed over Abiram’s group. A fire burned among their followers, and flames burned up the wicked. The people made a gold calf at Mount Sinai and worshiped a metal statue. They exchanged their glorious God for a statue of a bull that eats grass. They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt, who had done miracles in Egypt and amazing things by the Red Sea. So God said he would destroy them. But Moses, his chosen one, stood before him and stopped God’s anger from destroying them. Then they refused to go into the beautiful land of Canaan; they did not believe what God promised. They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the LORD.

In his new Thanksgiving devotional series, Pastor Jim Cymbala shows us from Scripture not only how a grateful heart pleases God, but also how it blesses others and ultimately makes a huge difference in our own lives. This series is great not just for the holiday season but year-round for those who want biblical insight into an act of worship that is so necessary for our spiritual well-being.

In the Old Testament times, God chose people (TOUCHPOINTS), interacting with them in innumerable ways. This, in the light of the New Testament (NT), brings deep perspectives on the Word. GOD’s TOUCHPOINTS has four parts, the first being Old Testament Summary, Patriarchal ages – covering key people and foundations. The sequel is GOD REVEALED – a New Testament Journey. Following the “additional reading” passages provided will take you through the entire bible in both series.

How do we feed ourselves with the Word of God? By reading through the Bible. But how do we grasp all the Bible has to offer in an easy and enjoyable way? This reading plan spans one year with daily bite-sized chunks of devotions and scripture to help you stay focused, at a comfortable pace and without overwhelming yourself. As you begin your walk through the Bible, you'll start to hear, read, study, memorize, meditate, and apply God's Word in your life.
Be strong. Be Alert. Be Courageous. These words are the premise of this 30 day study where you will uncover God's desire for you to call out to Him and trust He will hear. Not only hear, but set you on sure footing, a path He sets before you, for your sake and the sake of those around you. From there you will dig into Scripture around what it means to courageously step into God's presence, how to do so, and what you can expect as a result of going into His presence. Finally, you will be encouraged to step towards the healing Christ offers, both individually, and as the collective Bride of Christ. Each day you will be encouraged to ask questions, seek answers in God and His Word, and identify the step YOU sense the Holy Spirit compelling you to take. Courage accompanies ACTION, and Christ reveals to us where to move next, while the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so!
