On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner courtyard of the king’s palace, facing the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the doorway. When the king saw Queen Esther standing in the courtyard, he was pleased. He held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand, so Esther went forward and touched the end of it. The king asked, “What is it, Queen Esther? What do you want to ask me? I will give you as much as half of my kingdom.” Esther answered, “My king, if it pleases you, come today with Haman to a banquet that I have prepared for you.”

Are you weary? Worn out by the bills that keep stacking or a heart that keeps aching? If so, the book of Esther brings welcome news: Relief will come! Though God never promised us a life without trials, he does promise to be with us as we walk through them. In this 5-day plan, you'll learn to trust that God can redeem your struggles for a mighty purpose.
These five daily devotions are based on Lynn Cowell's and Amy Carroll's book, Esther: Seeing Our Invisible God in an Uncertain World. Though she lived centuries ago, Esther speaks to us when we run into limited control and resources. We find in her a strength and fortitude you and I need today. A strength we discover as we follow her process of listen, feel, do, and speak.
