We tell you the Good News about the promise God made to our ancestors. God has made this promise come true for us, his children, by raising Jesus from the dead. We read about this also in Psalm 2: ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.’ God raised Jesus from the dead, and he will never go back to the grave and become dust. So God said: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings that I promised to David.’ But in another place God says: ‘You will not let your Holy One rot.’ David did God’s will during his lifetime. Then he died and was buried beside his ancestors, and his body did rot in the grave. But the One God raised from the dead did not rot in the grave. Brothers, understand what we are telling you: You can have forgiveness of your sins through Jesus. The law of Moses could not free you from your sins. But through Jesus everyone who believes is free from all sins. Be careful! Don’t let what the prophets said happen to you: ‘Listen, you people who doubt! You can wonder, and then die. I will do something in your lifetime that you won’t believe even when you are told about it!’ ”

Christians are different. They can’t help it. When you’re in Christ and filled with the Spirit, it changes you. This leads to weird ideas and alternate beliefs about reality. This series of 5-day plans uses classic Christian Creeds as a vehicle to explain the Christian worldview compared to the world’s, and help us see reality through Jesus’s eyes.
Through the scattered, growing group of Jesus followers, the gospel is advancing to the ends of the earth. We pick up with the missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas, and Paul’s first recorded sermon, which is a masterpiece. This 5-day plan continues a journey through Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.
