PSALM 3
Morning Prayer of Trust in God.
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.
1O Lord, how my adversaries have increased!
Many are rising up against me.
2Many are saying of my soul,
“There is no deliverance for him in God.” #Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interludeSelah.
3But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
4I was crying to the Lord with my voice,
And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
5I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me round about.
7Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God!
For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek;
You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
8Salvation belongs to the Lord;
Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.

PSALM 3
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.
1O Lord, how are my foes increas'd?
against me many rise.
2Many say of my soul, For him
in God no succour lies.
3Yet thou my shield and glory art,
th' uplifter of mine head.
4I cry'd, and, from his holy hill,
the Lord me answer made.
5I laid me down and slept; I wak'd;
for God sustained me.
6I will not fear though thousands ten
set round against me be.
7Arise, O Lord; save me, my God;
for thou my foes hast stroke
All on the cheek-bone, and the teeth
of wicked men hast broke.
8Salvation doth appertain
unto the Lord alone:
Thy blessing, Lord, for evermore
thy people is upon.
