Mark 16
16
The Resurrection
1When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him. 2Very early on the first day of the week, they *came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” 4Looking up, they *saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large. 5Entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed. 6And he *said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him. 7But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.’ ” 8They went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
9[#Later mss add vv 9-20Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. 10She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping. 11When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.
12After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country. 13They went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either.
The Disciples Commissioned
14Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. 17These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.]
[#A few late mss and versions contain this paragraph, usually after v 8; a few have it at the end of chAnd they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.]

St Mark 16
16
1AND when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought sweet spices, that coming, they might anoint Jesus.
2And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen.
3And they said one to another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4And looking, they saw the stone rolled back. For it was very great.
5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished.
6Who saith to them: Be not affrighted; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen, he is not here, behold the place where they laid him.
7But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee; there you shall see him, as he told you.
8But they going out, fled from the sepulchre. For a trembling and fear had seized them: and they said nothing to any man; for they were afraid.
9But he rising early the first day of the week, appeared first to Mary Magdalen, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
10She went and told them that had been with him, who were mourning and weeping.
11And they hearing that he was alive, and had been seen by her, did not believe.
12And after that he appeared in another shape to two of them walking, as they were going into the country.
13And they going told it to the rest: neither did they believe them.
14At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again.
15And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned.
17And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues.
18They shall take up serpents; and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay their hands upon the sick, and they shall recover.
19And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God.
20But they going forth preached every where: the Lord working withal, and confirming the word with signs that followed.
